1950s External Facelift - Render/Cladding?
Comments (28)Hi Louise. In the end we merely added new windows and a new door. We went for a mixture of Sapele and aluminium to break up the width of the house. The windows are made by Smart and are the Alitherm Heritage 47 range which are supposed to a close match to Critall. We also converted our garage and matched the windows and use of Sapele frame as well as having a bespoke Sapele gate. We're still not convinced we made the right choice by adding two sapele windows - but we always have the option to add aluminium ones to replace them and they are not too costly. So - it's not 100% what we wanted, but for the budget we had we are very pleased. The garage conversion is very cool inside with bespoke ply shelves/desk and seating area as well as ply walls. It is a homage to Corbusier and his Cabana in South of France :)...See MoreExterior improvement required for my 1950s bungalow! Photoshop please
Comments (31)Not sure if i need to start a new post but i have booled the decorator to come to paint all the fascias, soffits, guttering, downpipes and garage doors for now. But what colours? From pica attached you cam see we currently have an awful pale blue underneath. Would u do this again with the very dark charcoal colour which we are going to do our garage doors? Or would u keep it all white? Or would u paint the gutters and downpipes in the charcoal... or keep them white? Advise pls...See MoreHelp! External overhaul needed for 1950s house
Comments (0)Hi we have just bought a 1950s do-er upper and I’m looking for ideas on how to improve the exterior. As a minimum the white would need repairing/rendering but if we go more radical what would you suggest. I really hate the windows. Photoshopped ideas welcomed!...See MoreHelp. Comments (7)This was in 2011, when we just started renovating. Top windows are new (ral7039), walls ral9010. You see the neighbour on the right has bright white, the attached on the left some creamy tan. (Landscaping credits go to previous owner..) Don't have many new photo's, but this was a few months ago, when we had the front door and livingroom window done too (pvc): Lower edge on the wall still needs some paint.. And landscaping hasn't been done yet either, but we did take out the dug in roof tiles.. (plus we're slow renovators LOL no stress)...See MoreKingfisher Designs
