I think patterned tiles or vilyl on a kitchen floor look amazing. And since your wall tiles are single colour, the patterned floor will bring in light and freshness. I'd go for a white/grey/blue combo like the ones in the pictures below, I think they would really tie the room together.

Hello Caro, That is a spectacular kitchen and the second I have seen on Houzz that's similar.. The other was yellow but the owners ripped it out! I am very glad you're keeping yours.. The fridge is wonderful too... What would really make this stand out is if you could find a home for the pans... So the kitchen remains sleek... Could I suggest a warmer lighter granite for the worktop or perhaps a worktop that would compliment the look like Formica! ... I think black would be too harsh here.. Something with blue in would be good too so it compliments the tiles... OR keep what you have as it looks blue.... You could have blue as a theme for the flooring too... Are you changing the flooring?.. I think this is one such occasion where I can say.. "Don't just go to first base... Go all the way!" : ))

Have you considered polished concrete floor if you are so keen on a grey floor? With tile/concrete floor, you might want to consider underfloor heating though. Alternatively, Jordan Andrews supply a whole range of different timber tones and will have a range of greys as well if you check out their website.

Hi Mary Choosing floor tiles can be quite daunting as there are so many styles to choose from these days. Here are a few things you might like to consider. Size- go for as large as possible, this will help make a smaller space look bigger. What are your floor dimensions? Style- What style are your units and also the rest of your house for that matter? There are tiles which look like stone, concrete, slate, think about which style would suit your house best. Colour- there are some good grey/taupe options around which would work very well with gloss white units. Work tops - have you chosen them and if so what colour are they. Cleaning - if you have a family/animals I would suggest going for something with a slight texture/pattern to it. They won't show the dirt so much. The world is your oyster really. I would choose something very close to that deep red/rust/plum (can't quite work out what it is) in the granite. It looks as if that colour is also in the tea towel on the right (hanging on the handle in front of the oven). Everything else is so light I think the room would take it well and it would give it wow factor. You need a warm colour, as someone else has said, to tone with the cream of the cabinets and the granite.

It's quite a small space so the tessellating pattern may make it appear even smaller, I'd keep it simple with a decent luxury vinyl laminate

In a small space keep it simple. Perhaps a grey ash laminate to blend in with the walls.

I’m thinking of practicality. It is amazing how quickly a kitchen floor can look dirty. The patterned tiles above would be good for this.

I chose oak boards in a distressed finish for mine, it was this or a light ceramic tile. I’ve never regretted it, the boards never look dirty ( the ceramic bathroom tiles as chosen do however take time to keep clean and show every piece of hair).

I love a patterned floor in a small space. I feel it sort of blurs the lines, so you're distracted from the size of the space.
