I'm looking for a twin slot shelving system with a premium build quality. Is there such a thing?

Lovey entrance by the way. Where you have a sofa, i would change the style of seating. If you want a unique cool look search on ebay for some original cinema/theatre seats usually in Red velvet or Royal Blue and the ones that are joined and the seats pads move up when your not seated, depending on the age they can be wood, there is an amazing pair onebay at the moment parisian ones aged 1930's-40's. If you dont like the original look you can always restore them a little. On the other side i would then add a console table with a lamp, and hide the coats in a storage cupboard, ( is that a storage cuobourd on the left?). A lamp will lighten the hallway a little. I would move the clocks to a bigger wall in the house and replace with a mirror a little like the one on the right. Theatrical to match the seats.

The first option seems to work better when you add furniture in? Given they'll be starting secondary school soon'ish I don't know whether a wardrobe and chest of drawers is a better option for their uniform? You can also use the bottom of the wardrobe for shoes, sports equipment etc and I'd pick a colour that blends into the wall. I personally wouldn't do 2 feature walls however use colour blocking to zone each of their spaces. Try and find a blue and yellow that work together and add a couple more complementary shades. I've added a couple of pics but there are loads online. You could do a geometric shape or border etc. Having their duvet in their colours may be an idea too. I would probably go for beanbags for seating which can go at the side of the bed when not in use. Is their room under the bed for baskets for toys? Maybe also shelves over the bedside table?

Hi Kids Rule Interiors, thank you very much for your reply! Yes, I am planning to store all his clothes in this alcove (which are not that many when you try to be a minimalist :D)... In the teak chest of drawers, there are two drawers, where I would put his clothes for the current season. Above it, there would be a shelf with a hanging rail. I was thinking that the fact that the shelf is modular would help to place it higher as my child's clothes get bigger. But by the time his clothes get really big, I might come up a new wardrobe solution! I looked into Svalnas in the past but it's not the right dimensions for my alcove :( the closest I could find is a twin slot shelving system... The other thing I'm considering is an ikea billy bookcase turned into a wardrobe like the one below, but I hesitate because in this case, I cannot put anything on display! Thank you so much for insisting on the fact that the corners of the shelves have to be safe in some way.

Thanks to everyone for their lovely comments. Perhaps the word refurbishment is more fitting than renovation :) A plant in the empty space is worth a thought - thanks. The photo below is how the kitchen was left when we moved in... I won't share photos of the rooms...let's just say a real deep clean was needed!

I've used twinslot from Charles Watson in our office and the living room. Fantastic quality. I actually purchased them from EBay, but they also have their own website.

I would buy the twinslot and shelves separately. An ironmonger won't necessarily have the best quality wooden shelves. I got my plywood shelves supplied and cut down to size by my local timber yard.
