Building a Home Renovating

Design advice please

We have a 1960's chalet house which we are looking to do a double extention on.
I've got plans from an architect but wanted to get some extra eyes on our plans incase there is anything we have missed or not thought about.
Any insights from you lovely lot would be greatly appreciated.
I've included a picture of the rear of the property and the garage conversion which will be an interim office space.

this is the front of the property. in particular I'm after some advice to keep costs down as our budget is 150k. I'm also not sure what rear window to have in the upstairs master bedroom. I had read that its difficult to dress triangle windows. The sun also rises to the rear of the property and sets to the front. so was considering new windows that would have a tint on them. has anyone had them before?

Swap lounge with kitchen dining room. take out the wall dividing the K/D. Add an alternative exit in south wall by the stairs. Take down conservatory and extend across. Hi there - firstly congratulations on your first home! I can see why you are considering the plans you have outlined. If you do extend the bathroom into the current kitchen, you could make the first part (leading from the reception room) a small utility and create a doorway into your extended bathroom. It would be odd to have a back door in your bathroom so why not create a doorway where your window is in the reception room - this will become your back door and then turn any existing back doors, into windows (full length crittall if you want to be uber stylish and contemporary - assuming privacy is still possible) or block up entirely if not required. Whatever you do, bear in mind the changes will need to appeal to the masses going forward. Speak to an estate agent about your proposed changes. They will have seen many houses like yours, know what works and what doesn’t and can also advise on the likely return which will stop you making a costly mistake! Also don’t forget to check with your local council about structural changes and what you are allowed to do. Exciting times - wishing you the very best of luck! :)

Normally i think islands in a small room work better if they’re in the same colour. Personally I prefer Matt and think shaker style would work. The kitchen will probably look bigger minus handles but I think shaker handleless are more expensive but might be wrong. You could have discreet handles anyway. Have you considered an induction hob? It’s sleeker and will give you more worktops space when not in use. It also looks as if you could have a deeper than normal worktop on the back run (more storage space)? i added some tiles for texture but you may hate the colour (Apologies for the bad photoshop!)
