Garden renovation and pests?

Hi, we have a large ish back garden with a high back wall leading out of our boundary, with fencing either side. Our garden is mainly raised bed with a 1-2ish foot wall filled with soil. We ideally want the wall knocking down and soil removed so its all floor level. We started digging this all out ourselves. But our tip will only accept 3 bags of soil per month, how can we get rid of the rest of it? so will take forever to get rid. We have only done a small portion and already have 4 bags of soil. No pics atm, will get some later.

On the back wall we have a lot of climbing ivy that it practically taking over, but its coming from the other side of the wall, but we cannot locate who owns the land behind. So how can we kill and get rid of it on our side?

I think that self-made recipes can be really effective, but they cause unnecessary risks because they were not properly tested in a different situation, so they can bring danger and toxicity issues if you use them. Before making any recipes of this kind, I recommend you consult with a professional pest control company and talk with them about the risks and better options. For example, you can approach mr. mister mosquito control company that helped me a lot with my pest problems.

I did set up account on Qtect, I am not sure the service offering at QTect provides the adequate level of interactivity for me to submit a detailed design brief. Good sales pitch though, but I am not sure I would be able to set and convey my expectations however the propective designers budgetary need is already baselined right from the onset, which equates to a one way street, what if the 3 options (from all the designer proposals) are all rubbish, I am not sure it is a good idea to commit to paying for work that does not involve focused consultation.

Urban Earth...if that is a sunny south facing fence up high, what about strengthening it as support and planting a mixture of climbers to give a long season of green, flowers and scent...wisteria, clematis, honesuckle and a pretty climbing rose would cover about 5 months.....

Hi I would look to raise the lawn up level with the path to the front door by building a smart brick retaining wall. You could then plant a low ish hedge along the top to provide further privacy but keep it to no more than 4/5 ft to prevent it overpowering the space and blocking light. For that reason I'd avoid conifers of any sort as they are thugs and take a lot of managing. By raising the lawn from pavement level it will give you some privacy anyway. It'd be nice to loose the concrete kerb along the side of the drive too so it doesn't feel and look like the road! Perhaps continue the brick round till it feathers out to meet the path to the door? A feature tree of small to medium size would also be a nice addition to the lawn. Look for one with dual seasonal interest ie. Spring flower and Autumn colour such as Amelanchier or some of the flowering cherries. Good luck Neil
