What colour to paint stable door?

Hi, I need to paint stable door in patio area and don’t know whether to keep the colour as it is (looks like a red stained wood) or paint it grey to match the garden furniture which is in a different part of the garden not visible from patio. If it were painted grey would it look right next to the white French doors or maybe better to keep it in a more natural wood colour than grey? The second pic is in the shade so looks much darker. First pic is truer to the actual colour.

Hi, I'd keep both the same colour and I don't mind the white; however the exterior has fairly warm hues with the porch door, tiles, brickwork and so the white is a contrast. If you are looking to paint the door, I'd go for Taupe-grey so there's a hint of brown present just to make the external door and internal door feel more cohesive.

Good morning, May I suggest for the front door and garage be painted the same in a very high gloss, possibly from farrow and balls collection a colour that has similarly to the stone used on the house such as.....Archive or Oxford stone which should compliment the brown window frames? I would also suggest you remove all the terracotta planters and replace them with some contemporary natural stone or paint the planters same as the door and they should be tall and plant some large box balls or sphere shapes which should update the look? I was thinking of a colour too and the sage green is beaut! It also looks good with black hardware. Tamp75 and Sonia thank you 👍. I was leaning towards the grey instead of what’s already there - I agree tamp75 it suits the white walls - but think I will go for a splash of colour and do it sage green.

Definitely paint it a colour! Paint it a colour that you love and that you have inside the house - so it makes you smile when you come home, so that it all ties together and so that the transition from exterior to interior isn't totally off. Front door colour should kind of set the expectation for what's on the inside. Not in an overly matchy matchy way, but something that compliments the exterior and the interior. Repeating the door colour in the garden is always a good idea too, to make it look intentional and like it's meant to be that colour - could be flowers, foliage or a plant pot or something like that.

Good advice thank you colour wise design. It’s a quirky cottage with the hall and French doors that you can see in the pic at the back of the house, and the front door is part of an extension at the front of the house. I have neutrals teamed with teals/greens/blues in hall and living room and both rooms flow to the French doors/stable door so that’s why I thought Sonia’s sage green door would work well. Just need to find the exact colour match of it now! 🙂
