would really appreciate a few ideas for a new patio.

We are currently having an orangery built and also wanting to create a new patio area. We have a quite a large garden but struggling with where to fit furniture in etc. We would like to incorporate:
hot tub
large table and chairs
U shaped sofa
Pizza oven
Bbq
The york stone slabs will be coming out and like the idea of composit decking with porcelain tiles.
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated!

Comments (7)The reason that you're dad is telling you this is because of the sizes of the doors. Each door will be less than 3ft wide, and ordinary sliding doors do not slide back completely behind the other, therefore, the gap that you walk through to get outside will be impeeded, probably by around 10-12 inches. When you take into consideration the width of the frame on both sides, your gap will be tiny, i'm hazzarding a guess at somewhere in the realm of 20-24 inches. Of course it is possible, you can have them whatever size you like. Just ask the window company what gap you'll be left with to walk through ! Other sliding doors ( the expensive ones ) - push out then slide over, making your gap larger. If you can afford it, then bi-folds will work, other than that two lovely large patio doors that open out mounted toward the outer edge of the building so that they fold as flat a possible agains the outside walls. We put these on one of our builds, and it's fabulously light and airy inside and the doors open a long way out and back These are the sort that you mean, and we have put them on builds, but you end up having to turn slightly sideways to go through them because of the diminished gap!...See MoreI would appreciate your help with this
Comments (62)Hi everyone I am well aware that I haven’t updated you on this room but as it’s often the case things didn’t go according to plan. Everything was in place and we were ready for the bed to go together, only to found that when the removal guys took our bed apart they broke one of the bolts into the frame. So we had to admit defeat and buy a bed base until we can have someone look at it. I need to tweak it a bit more, change the lamps even but for now its ready for business. Comments (11)I had a ushaped kitchen with peninsula in previous house as no room for island. I never felt stuck behind it- in fact i liked the fact that guests and kids were more likely to stay on the dining side out of my way! I now have an island as I'm stuck with the kitchen in the house we bought, and it drives me a bit crazy when there are lots of people in the kitchen as they all gather around the island and get in the way! I think your plan is pretty good except for oven position. I think it's really far from your workspace, and also I'd question the wisdom of having the oven beside the fridge? Maybe a tall larder cupboard in this position, and a range style cooker with double oven beneath? Or move the hob to the peninsula and put double oven somewhere along that wall?...See More
