What kind of wood is it?

I like this one a lot.
The curves of the interwoven planks give a bit of movement but not as busy as the second one, and the colour of the wood looks lighter than the others

Hi Miranda, it's treated softwood and the panels are guaranteed for 25 years.

It's all up to personal taste ultimately, but a few ideas: Reclaimed wood is a favourite of mine and I think it can work in any kitchen, whether traditional, shabby-chic or more contemporary like yours. Especially if paired with some white Eames-style chairs A black table would work with the existing black to build a monochrome look Any variation of a concrete table (for e.g. concrete and glass, concrete and wood, plain concrete or concrete and metal) would utilise the modern aspects of your kitchen but give it an industrial edge In terms of shapes, it depends how many people would be using the table at one time on a day-to-day basis, as round tables don't fit as many on, but a round table could be a nice contrast to the rectangular shapes and clean lines. ooh thanks guys! Nice to have some replies. Thanks, it's very cute it was sort of a faux mahogany colour before, this is much nicer. Lot of elbow grease haha! Perhaps then I could treat it with Osmo oil first as it looks like it might bring out the warmth of the colour a bit and offer some level of protection. And then I can add wax on top. Any recommendations on wax?
