Should I remove wardrobe doors and replacing with curtains

Was thinking of replacing with sliding doors as not enough space for the current swing open doors, however i want to soften the look as bedroom is just white and sterile apart from the current imposing grey wardrobe (5 single doors). Thinking of putting up curtains instead of doors - should i do this? They would be drawn shut all the time, should i go for highly pleated solid colour (dusty pink or dusky blue) or bring in pattern soft stripe or floral? Or should i just get sliders?

Curtains are a no from me instead of doors. I always think they’ll attract dust.

If you want to add some colour to detract from the sterile look could you paint the existing wardrobe doors?

If not then go for the sliders.

I don’t think curtains will be an improvement. Why not add the dusky pink to the walls instead. Pink usually sits well with grey.

Hello. Congratulations on buying your apartment. You should think very carefully about what you do to your studio, since it is the space where you will live, breath and sleep. Before you make any specific decisions, put together a mood board so you can focus on the complete look. . Look at the colour and texture of the things you aren't going to change, like the sofa and, I guess, the floor? Then gather images of the things you want to change, and play around with colour, taking inspiration from your moodboard. This is fun, and will give you a good idea of how your room with feel and look. Good luck. If you have someone to do the ceilings already, then you don't need a builder. Have a look at all the Ikea Systems for storage, If you're not handy at flat pack, the have a Handyman to install. If you don't want to go for flat pack, then get a carpenter in to make something bespoke for you regards the wardrobe and desk area, but you will pay a premium for this.

Hi Harriet. I think it's fine to paint this door in any lighter colour you like. For your interior doors and cupboards though you could consider painting them in the wall colour, it often works for smaller rooms with more than one door so they blend into the walls and it looks less busy and therefore more spacious

If you keep it as a master bedroom I would definitely go for walk in wardrobe- we have a very similar situation in our room but even though we haven’t gained wardrobe space everyone that has a nosey thinks it’s amazing! We also didn’t put a door on the en-suite that leads off the walk in wardrobe so we could gain some natural light and it works really well keeps it all feeling more spacious than perhaps it actually is.

Would wallpering the doors soften the room? Material could even be an option as a covering to give texture in the rrom
