advice on paint colours

Wallpaper below will be on 2 walls in our lounge/dining room either side of a door, we have a navy velvet sofa and biscuit coloured carpet but struggling with paint colours for the other walls and woodwork (currently white)

It’s a lovely wallpaper but as it’ll cove4 2 walls and is dark perhaps something light? I perhaps white woodwork.

Failing that I would consider a feature wallpaper to include a metallic sheen that would give it a warmth and tie in with the dark stairwell I've seen from other images....this would also be a good backdrop to link into the kitchen aswell.

Hello headers13, Looking nice! Not much of a mess at all! Normally I'd suggest the idea of dark chimney breast and lighter walls.. Since you have dark cabinets going in then perhaps consider the other way around.. Usually alcoves are better lighter as they then look further away.. Chimney breast to the fore.. Standing out with a beautiful mirror.... I normally don't recommend shelving in alcoves either.. Just a personal taste.. However.... What about approaching it with the idea of scale colouring.. with dark at bottom and working it's way lighter up the shelves.... So you could have dark chimney breast and dark bottom shelves and gradually take the shades up till you get to a creamy white at the top... Ceilings are really gr8 in Whitening by Little Greene.. It would give it a different feel and this style of painting is really in.... You can do it with walls too, see image... Also to lighten the look of the shelving... consider darker and fuller shelves at the bottom and lighten towards the top... This creates the idea of openness with the shelving, thus giving the fireplace the focal point it deserves... : ))

I have similar colour combo kitchen and painted the walls in F&B Light Blue. Looks fab against the cream cabinets, giving a slight vintage feel.

I would suggest Timeless, or even White Mist for this. White Mist has a less yellow undertone when compared to Timeless, however this colour unfortunately does not come ready mixed in our Endurance+ finish. This would mean it would have to be made up at a DIY store or at one of our Decorator centres. Going for slightly darker grey tones such as this, will then provide a fantastic backdrop for a statement mirror or a piece of artwork, which will really zone your seating area. I agree that the door wall would be a great place for the grey to continue over, and you could even flow this along the wall which will house the kitchen units too. Although this may seem like a large amount of grey, your beautiful large ceilings and remaining walls will be in your chosen off-white colour, which will retain a light and airy feel. I think that you are right to keep the walls which have windows as the off-white, as it will allow the lovely grey frames to stand out. I guess it depends on the feel you are going for. Warm and rich or light and rich. Is the window big? You could match the green in the leaf or go big and get a gold colour if it didn't clash with the carpet.
