What colour headboard/cushions ??
I have a room which is painted in farrow and ball dimpse, and a light and lamps which are gold .
I'm struggling to know what colour headboard and cushions to put with it?
The room is light and airy as it has a big window and there is pannelling detail on the walls
I have put some fabric swatches on the wall which I found but am still undecided! Any comments gratefully received!

Comments (12)Look for old wood privacy fence boards cast offs or placed at the curb or better yet call your local fence companies or installers and request that they either save it for you or let you know where the old boards are being disposed of. You can usually find a few boards still with enough meat on their bones to veneer a small space with. Use them to veneer an accent wall or a headboard as you might. Here are 3 quick visualisations that I hope could inspire you using wall paper, mural wall stickers or just paint! From your photos the colour of the room and furniture is not 100% clear, so please forgive me if the colours do not go together in reality. By painting the area up to the window seal high one colour and using another for the rest of the wall up to the ceiling you will achieve the effect of framing the beds. Also an option could be do a one long DIY head board by taking some MDF and making it run horizontally like a wide rectangle under the window. You could paint it or cover it with fabric. Read Interiors will take your advice and get a wall mounted headboard, will start calling upholsterers tomorrow to get prices. Daisy, yes I do have a vax from the last house and the newer models are much better than the previous ones in terms of drying times. Vicki thanks for the name of the stretch valance as I couldn't find them on Google apart from on House of Fraser but they have limited colours and were pretty pricey at £100 or so! Angm, funnily enough I had this conversation with the carpet man as when I lifted the 50 year old carpet I noticed there was paper down and he explained that was why. He said it was also a good idea to tape any joins in underlay as well as the carpet but said a lot of fitters don't do this. Forzaitalia and Sam appreciate the insights and very interesting given your experiences Corbridge Interior design interesting point re rug and sizing I am still torn!!!! But I am probably moving towards carpets. I think the pics make the floor look better than it is! Noise wouldn't be a problem as we are in a bungalow, which is why I am concerned about the kids walking into their rooms on carpet having forgotten to take their shoes off! Comments (7)Go for the teal! it's gorgeous and will look stunning with your pillows. It wouldn't go with the footstool and other accessories would have to be less bold than the headboard but can have hints of the teal. 2 years agoi think they would all go but I must say I love 3, 4 and 5 (the duck egg and blue) ones, then you can introduce more colour in the throw and cushions. If you went for the beige I suppose they would give you more flexibility? It also depends on what style you like - contemporary, traditional etc. I think neutral curtains in a similar shade to your walls would be lovely.

colourhappys acid yellow suggestion reminded me of this not quite acid yellow headboard which looks great with the bronzey tones you have (well I think so! ) and I’d build on those
If not, I also prefer 3 and 5 of the first swatches. It just depends on what sort of look you’re after
