Kitchen paint colour dilemma

Hello

we have a very pale grey, high gloss kitchen. Lots of units so, v light reflective. Dark floors and 2 dark leather sofas courtesy of muddy dog.

wall colour and accessories - yellow.

We are redecorating but cannot decide on a new colour. We don’t want red, orange etc. Preferring the idea of greens and wooden stools, copper lights etc.

cannot decide on the perfect shade ( east facing room). Can anyone recommend please?

I have pale grey fascias (dove grey) in my kitchen and used to have an accent wall which was lime green.

Green would be nice, such a calm, gentle colour and so relaxing. I have Cromarty in my living room which faces North-East. A dusky pink would also go nicely. This is Cromarty.

Normally you would not mix cream and white. If you go for a pure white it will make the window frames look dirty. Very pale cream will go with the blue on the unit and the floor and windows. I would go for the pale cream on the units and the walls, match to the windows for a lovely seemless look. Here you can see that the aga sticks out because it's cream and the walls are white.Cream and blue working well together Window frame standing out because it doesn't match the walls.

I love it, really restful. You could, and I don't think it needs it, go for the feature wall behind the range, picking up the colour of that. Or replicate the colour on the opposite side of the room in the breakfast nook, for a little intimate interest!

That looks a very well built kitchen so ripe for updating. The kitchen looks more like cream than magnolia, not that it matters! I think your new colour scheme looks great, modern but with classic styling. I think I can see a deep navy/grey in that beautiful worktop? I agree with Lacuna to get test pots, paint them on a piece of A4 card and try them next to the worktop. I would do that at various spots in the kitchen. As to the wooden worktop, you can sand it by hand and then apply several coats of Osmo Top Oil which is made specifically for worktops. I use it on my oak worktop.

Definitely agree: it is so hard to see colours on screen... I have looked at all the blues and some times they look darker, sometimes lighter.... I am currently leaning towards LG French Grey and LG Royal Navy for my kitchen, but I really need some painted cards to see them in my kitchen, in my light. Also due to have a “colours” session with the kitchen designer a week on Tuesday (kitchen ordered, but will be pained in-situ).

Thanks to Sonia too - great photos. Kromarty reminds me of F&B ‘wet plaster’ which is a lovely colour.
