Comments (7)I think long curtains would be lovely. What an elegant room. A metal rail would be good, forget about those ghastly plastic ones that eventually break. I had a simple white metal rail fitted in my bay window. I actually bought it in a high quality curtain shop and they fitted it for me. Cost £200 for rail, fitting and open/close cords - rail is 12’ long. There are a huge array of fabrics on the market but I love a linen mix, hangs beautifully. You could go plain in a colour similar to your walls, or a pattern. It depends what else is in the room as to how patterned you go! Do you like florals, or geometric? Laura Ashley do some wonderful classical fabrics. Heres a few ideas...See MoreCan’t remove curtains from pole
Comments (4)Thank you both! It was actually a really simple solution, my brain just couldn’t fathom at first. 😅 The wall brackets themselves were lose, so they were sagging and putting pressure on the bracket and the screw, so no matter how much i turned the screw it made no difference. 🤦♀️ I finally twigged though, and after tightening the bracket, i now have a fresh pair of curtains up! Comments (6)The wardrobes will be free standing Chloe or that might be a solution. My husband is designing them and will build them himself. The challenge with the curtain rail is that the ceiling immediately above the window frame slopes upwards. It's the eaves across the front of the house. It's only a short slope, maybe 20-30cm until full room height but it impacts options for a curtain rail fixing. In the equivalent room downstairs the rail is fitted to the ceiling which works perfectly, but I don't think it would work properly if fixed on a slant. We'll get there in the end! Thanks for all the suggestions....See MoreKingfisher Designs
