To keep or not to keep?
Comments (14)Thanks everyone! Looks like the bricks will stay! We haven't seen a setup like it either minnie101 - that is what is confusing us. It looks like it may have been an agar cooker of some sort in the space behind the tv. Like the idea of changing the colour of the beam and also moving the TV to the other side or possibly get a projector. I think we will be getting a professional out to take a look and to give guidance on the best position of the new fire. The old one does not give out any heat into the room but only serves to heat the back boiler which we are getting rid of soon....See MoreChimney Breast - to keep or not to keep?
Comments (0)Hi there. So, I'm redecorating and having a kitchen extension. My thin Edwardian house has a through lounge and dining room, each with a fireplace, but with narrow recesses (middle wall was knocked through before I moved in). The lounge has an original fire surround, the dining room with opening only. I'm thinking of having the chimney in the dining room removed (as well as the chimney in the small bedroom above it), but my question is, should I keep both chimneys to make it look even or does it not matter? Access to both rooms is via one door from the hallway into the dining room. Thanks very much....See MoreIdeas to "perk up" my "meh" hallway....
Comments (11)I agree with Sonia but even if you can’t find doors, maybe having all the baskets the same (& full height) like the ones at the bottom would help. I do think the modern style of the storage clashes a little with the style of the hall you’re trying to create so I wouldn’t add wallpaper, etc to the storage units as I think it will draw attention rather than disguise it. So if the storage can’t change, play it down with either doors or identical neutral storage boxes. I like the mirror & think it suits the style but it looks a little big for that particular wall. For an accent colour, if you want one, maybe pick up on the teal / green / turquoise in your front door....See More6 Stylish Sleeve Designs to Bring in the Limelight
