Large Bay Window - Pole dilemma

Hi I have a large bay window that I would like to fit a curtain pole to for eyelet curtains. Pole length would need to be approx 750cm - any ideas how I do this - cant find anything "off the shelf" to do this.

Think you can get a flexible track that goes round the corners of the bay, think that looks better than a pole too.

Go to a proper curtain shop. They have a much bigger range of curtain poles/rails than some home stores. I bought one in my local curtain shop and they fitted it too. It is made of a tough white metal and fits around the bay corners. It even has cords to open and close it.

Hiya, We always recommend making a feature of a bay window, especially in a living space. Choose 3 separate blinds that follow the windows - Roman blinds are a popular choice as they create a luxurious feel, though if you're overlooked you might like something with slats, like shutters as you suggest. Framing the window with dress curtains is a lovely addition too - as you mention, the close-in curtains can make the window feel smaller, so consider a wider curtain pole to make the most of the space and light. I think some beautiful white voile for the day time, mounted on a very discreet ceiling mounted track, such as Silentgliss, which can be bent into the bay. I would then put a bay pole in front of this with whichever curtains go with your scheme, using a blackout lining. I would be careful not to have the curtains gathered too full though as you do not have a lot of space to the left of the window to pull them back. Although unconventional, to overcome this problem, you might want to consider having the curtains made to different widths, ie a shorter left curtain and a wider right curtain so that when they are closed they meet at the corner. On a flat window this would be very conspicuous, but your window is unusual.

I wanted shutters in my house but again, far too expensive! I ended up going for white wooden blinds with 50mm slats and tapes. From the outside they almost pass for shutters and look very smart. I got mine from Tuiss but I believe they have now partnered with Blinds2Go. From memory they will send you samples of the slat and tapes to pick your colour. Then I would possibly use dress curtains to soften it,

Am I right in thinking that your bay is not something you can walk into? That the window ledge/cill is a big flat surface? I can't quite see from the pic to be honest. If it is the case why not do venetians at the windows themselves with a longer curtain to go over the entire front. Best of both worlds? That way you get privacy, good heat retention and a large shelf to put some nice ornaments/sculpture etc.

Hi thanks for your reply's there was a track there before and I didnt like it at all. Going out tomorrow to try some curtain shops

You can get bay window poles with c shaped rings that will push past the pole fixings. But if you want eyelet curtains you'd need to have them hanging at each bend in the pole or fixing place rather than draw them fully back

I bought an adjustable pole with flexible joints for my mums window. It was from wilko I believe. Less than £20 maybe?
