Colour choice Help!

I’m having my bedroom decorated including the built in wardrobes in the photo. It’s a very light and airy bedroom that can take colour.
I’m torn between 2 options..

Wardrobes painted in DH Blossom pink with walls a pale almost white pink ( photos)
Wardrobes painted soft black and walls FB Ammonite (photo)

I just can’t decide!

Firstly I would say go with what makes your heart sing. And if you don't like it at some point in the future, repaint it!

But for me personally, pink wardrobes and pink walls would be a bit too much. And black wardrobes and ammonite walls would be too grey/cold. Other options would be soft black wardrobes and potters pink walls, or blossom wardrobes and ammonite walls. The two inspiration pics you've shared both mix a pink with a grey, so perhaps that's the look you're really drawn to, rather than the all-pink or all-grey options you've described?

Ammonite would be a lovely neutral for your wardrobes, then you can choose any colour for the walls, including the pink. it also means you can easily change the wall colour whenever you fancy. May you tire of pink wardrobes? It is of course your home and you should choose something you love.

What about displaying a mixture of quirky, fun or heirloom plates? Maybe from holidays destinations, or made by your children at the local ceramic workshop, or just found in the charity shops? I saw a few pictures lately, and thought it was such a fun alternative way to art in a kitchen! They can also bring in fresh & crazy colours which you wouldn’t dare using otherwise on a bigger scale!

We can recommend the Candle Light Paint from Valspar (they can mix it for you at b&q). Then you can add yellow velvet cushions on a grey/ light blue sofa? Have a look at sofa.com and Loaf. They do sofas in the colour tone you are looking for. Carpet colour in beige would look chic and you won't get bored of it as it will allow you to be a bit more playful with furniture and cushions. Hiya, I would not put a dark color, or a similar color to the tiles, since it would create an overwhelming effect in the kitchen. Shades of grey would work great along with the wooden shelves as well. Lighter blue could do, but depending on the lighting shade you have in the kitchen, it could look like green (if light shades are yellowish). Neutral pale whites could do. (I would say check the colors and try to avoid the ones with yellow undertone). Thanks, M

I’d go for the ammonite & black wardrobes with a few pale pink accessories to lift it. I love the soft pink of the pillow in your ammonite picture. The blossom pink is a bit full on for me whereas a softer, dusky pink would be lovely. But it is your choice!

Greys are really over-done at the moment so as long as you are happy with the feminine look, it flows with the rest of the house and you are happy to redecorate in around 2-3 years when you fancy a change, the pink will add inviting cheerful energy to the room.
