What security system is good or set of cameras do you recommend?

Hello colleagues, I will tell you that I am not a person very involved in the issue of security, nor do the cameras know anything, but I want to ask for your opinion in my house, they have already gotten into more than two occasions and I always speak to the authorities but they never manage to give With the suspects I have an 18-year-old daughter, I suppose she will be the boyfriend when I am not there, but if not, I have a potential danger, a friend recommended me AJAX system that can help me but I really need The opinion of an expert in charge of this matter, I hope they can help me and that only these insiders are a youthful joke from my daughter's boyfriend.

My son has Ring. He has the app on his phone so can see anyone who walks up his drive when he is out and can also speak to them. There is a small monthly charge once you have paid for the gadget.

ksgrant . . . . . I was on a very tight budget, but knew I was going to hit a wall and need a designer consult. I had space plan drawings for my kitchen and used the design services (free w/ cabinet purchase, CAD) to complete the space. I also had very specific inspiration photos that reflected the same perspective as the space, i.e. window placement over sink (light), position of appliances, prep sink. I paid close attention to how I intended to use the space, needed prep space for a least three cooks. I read a lot about the "triangle". Mostly I spent a lot of time with the plans and considering materials in relation to the inspiration photos. For instance, I wanted soapstone but it was out of budget and went with honed black granite to get the same look. Another example is that I wanted the kitchen to have some of the same elements as the old one to reflect the period of the house, so I had venting added to cabinet piece in front of the sink. Lights which automatically turn on when I enter a room (especially in the kitchen and in the hallway from the bedroom to the bathroom) and lights inside my wardrobes (especially inside the one in the bedroom: I often get up earlier than my hubby, and it may be still dark outside, and I don't want to wake him up while I'm looking for my stockings).

I won a bike in a competition just before Christmas ,but due to a knee problem I'm unable to ride this beautiful prize . I knocked down my shed last summer due to its age so now have nowhere to store my bike . It's in the hall , has to be negotiated around , I'm reluctant to sell it as I want to ride it !! I live in a terrace so back access is complicated and due to the knee problem I can't haul it up the front steps !! New house needed .... for me and my bikey !

Thank you for everyone's comments, had no idea this thread would prove so popular when I started it. We are plastering this week and we have finally bought most things for the kitchen. I did find some real 'finds' though if anyone is looking. Not sure where you are based, but regarding electrical goods we researched all our own and narrowed down our list, and once we had that we looked online for the best prices for each appliance. Instead of buying from lots of different places we took it to Bentalls, who not only matched, but also cost us less, and beat some online prices with a good 'deal' price they also then will hold on to them until you need them, but if anything goes wrong you have 'bentalls' rather than several online dealers to return items to. RDO Appliances also do this if there is one near you, but i'd advise you to research prices first. Another thing we found was inserts for the kitchens. Through our kitchen supplier these were expensive, bin inserts, pull out drawers, pull out larders, even the pop up sockets, sourced seperately through ebay and online we managed to save quite a lot of money by doing this, so our fitter will still have the right things on the day, but we are not getting the inserts from the supplier. What else..... erm kitchen worktop, unbelievably the exact same worktop, same material, same cut outs etc.. same sizes differed between suppliers by 3k! so do shop around for your quartz and granite.

My friend has the Ring camera. It alerts you to anyone who walks up your front path via your phone even if your not there. You can also talk to anyone outside your door so they think you are home. She loves it.

Get Eufy if you're going down that route, much better than Ring products. Bell & Camera's first class no subscription either

I would highly recommend “BLINK Outdoor” for anyone who wants a low running cost home monitoring system. I’ve got three cameras setup around my house (for the same price as one Ring camera). Plus you can run the Blink via a local SD card SO THERE IS NO MONTLY FEES.

You should do your own research & I find that YouTube is best for things like that.

The latest Ring device is awesome but it will cost you an arm and a leg just for one camera. The monthly cost doesn’t sound a lot but it adds up. Oh and I believe with the earlier (cheaper models) there is a delay in between ending a recording and starting a new one.

One piece of advice I would suggest is which every camera system you get place don’t have the camera up high so it’s like a birds eye view.

With the “Blink Outdoors” you can hook it up to solar power lighter that charges up the camera so no need for battery. (I’ve currently got that above my garage and will be adding it to my other cameras - but that’s an extra £60 odd via Amazon).

Ps I’m not an expert.

Oh also look at the ARLO system. Others also recommend that too, but I’ve never used.

I'm not an expert in the matter, but I've been researching some security systems myself lately. One brand that caught my attention is AJAX. It has a lot of features that seem to make it stand out from the competition. However, I would recommend checking out security-mps.com. They have a lot of information on the best security systems for your home, and they even offer free consultations. I'm new here, but I thought I'd share my experience in case it helps. It's important to feel safe and secure in your own home, especially with a teenage daughter.
