How can i possibly design this small powder room W/C?
Comments (50)Lol AMW. There's about 15cm from top of window to ceiling & the walls are cement blocks (so no recess space). The tiled 'secret' drawer compartment looks pretty cool though. I've got a cabinet being made in oak which will have to be sufficient for my daughter. The only thing I haven't decided on yet is the punter colour material to go with my java marble tile. So any pictures or links of suitable countertop/bench tops to go with the tile & oak cabinet would be grand :)...See MoreCould I set back my cooker into the chimney breast?
Comments (2)Oh dear ! That's a bit of a mistake to put an appliance next to one of those types of corners - but to do it twice is a disaster !! A simple solution, might be to move the right cupboard into the place where bins are and put open shelving either side of the cooker - as then the door will be able to open father back in one side - it wouldn't work with just moving the end cabinet to there as the drawer handle would still clash- even if you changed the door handing to move the lower handle out of the way - simple shelves you can buy from somewhere like ikea or a local kitchen shop ?! and the door should open back further - different hinges might help too (not sure which they have put on ? ) Then re use the stone top either side of the cooker and buy a new deeper top ( chopping block might be nice ) over the recessed bit do you have a deep worktop with the cupboard still in line and space for a bin next to it ?!...See MoreHelp! Comments (29)You wanted a design tool—try Room Arranger (ios, android, windows). It’s free unless you want to keep your design (a workaround if you don’t want to pay is to screenshot the elements of the design you want to keep). If you take photos of the existing granite, you’ll be able to arrange your cupboards as they are and colour them as you please. Personally, I think the top cupboards should either be removed/reduced if you can find more storage elsewhere. If kept, paint them pale so that they fade into the background. I would forget painting the lowers until your puppy is at least a year old, depending on the breed—if you’re doing the work yourself it takes several weeks to do (speaking from painful experience) and the paint will then need another lot of weeks to reach full hardness. It would drive you nuts if you put all that time into it, only for the puppy to scratch or mark your hard work, which is quite likely (I’ve had three puppies, by the way). If you really can’t live with the doors, and they’re standard sized, maybe just change them for something inexpensive from ikea/B&Q etc that you can live with for a few years? Then if they’re badly damaged they’re easily replaced out as needed (assuming you’re not unlucky and pup doesn’t go mad with multiple doors). Alternatively, you might be able to get them spray painted, which I believe gives a very tough coating....See MoreHow to tongue & groove panel my new bath
Comments (9)I’m assuming the panel strip you’re fitting to the floor will be tapered to account for the floor slope? I think that would highlight the slope more than if you just cut the T&G at an angle on the bottom. I would avoid gluing wood around a bathtub, mechanical fixings would be better and easier to open up the side of anything does go wrong. You could also have a hidden openable panel at the end of the bath. Why not do a frame and fit a T&G style panel rather than individual planks?...See MoreNeal Osborne
