Grey UPVC or White UPVC Windows?
Comments (17)Thanks Daisy I am swaying more towards grey. Yes that's very true as we're one of the only houses with the original 80s windows still, so people won't pay out just for a different colour if there windows are still okay. We really love grey, I am just worried it'll look out of place or not as good as I'd be hoping. I may have found the solution... I've been googling today & noticed slim profile UPVC windows exist (Aluminium is out of our budget). As one thing that put me off UPVC grey Windows was that the frame seams more obvious than white somehow & I don't like the thick, chunky frame of some UPVC Windows so that maybe an option. Thanks again!...See MoreWhat colour and style of door would best suit this house?
Comments (7)Hi, If you want to go bold, I'd go all the way, I like the green posted above, but I also think a vibrant teal sort of colour could work if you are going bright. I'd prefer to keep the door a more subtle tone, the two colours (amongst the many other colours which would work) which I liked were a cream or a soft green. I've attached (not very good, so fiddly when using your phone) mock ups, in terms if colour, not so much to the design it self but double bonus points if you do like them. Good Luck...See MoreAluminium or UPVC bi folding doors
Comments (14)We had exactly the same dilema as you 3 months ago. We have white UPVC windows , Velux and dark thin frame Aluminium Bifolds and I love them! I hunted around for ages and then one of my clients recommended this company and I can’t fault them. They are cost effective too! ;) Complete Group UK (Est. 1984)Unit 1Sappers FarmCranfield Park RoadWickfordEssex SS12 9ES Tel: 01268 571055 (office) Excuse the state of the garden !...See MoreAnthracite grey upvc french doors or white?
Comments (9)Yes, if you just wish to freshen up your windows and they are in good order, painting them makes good use of what you have. If the supplier is reputable with a good guarantee on the product you will be covered against warping and big draughts. I believe that slight ventilation is usually required to avoid condensation. Our timber windows are around 140 years old and still going strong with no warping. I do urge people to consider the health benefits for the family - clean air in your home. In the long run, with timber windows last at least 6 times the age the value for money of timber which outweighs the cost of painting within one lifetime alone. Also timber will not be adding to landfill or use as much energy to create. Finally the character and quality of finish is much different. Here is a comparison for you. According to this timber costs less too. https://www.wwf.org.uk/sites/default/files/2017-06/windows_0305.pdf Hope that helps in time! Thank you for sharing and we hope to see some photos!
