Slimline framed windows or glazing - recommendations for Manchester?

Hello and help!

My kitchen renovation is due to start end of July. But the supplier I originally had for my windows has gone AWOL so I need to look for someone new and fast.

I'm looking for slimline black frame windows and a fixed lightwell in a similar look.

Here's a photo as an example.

I live in the Manchester area. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Thank you.

Sorry i can’t help with recommendations in your area but if your project is due to start at the end of July I doubt you will get the windows in time.

There is a big shortage of glass at the moment and the waiting time in our area is one month from all major glass suppliers.

I wouldn’t waste any time finding someone. Good luck

Hi, sorry should've clarified. The first the works start for demolition and structural works in July. The stage where the windows should be fitted in is actually late August/early september. Should have explained a bit more!

chanti1, my grandparents used to have massive condensation problems with their double glazing as it was added as an afterthought, it had about a 4 inch gap and was not sealed so they would have to keep cloths in the gap to mop it all up. In my parents house there were a couple of windows prone to this problem between the panes - caused when the seal on the double glazed units failed. Because you can't get to it the result is eventually mould. The units had to be changed which to my mind seems drastic and wasteful. There should be a way of removing, cleaning and resealing units on site. Of course condensation happens with single glazing all the time. Where I live now we get condensation on the outside of the window at night. Air conditioning indoors and extreme humidity outside with night time temperatures still in the high twenties centigrade does that.

Ultra-slimline Sliding Doors from Cortizo

I have just had Cortizo 4700 3 track sliding sash doors fitted and am astounded that they are fabricated with internal drainage holes on the internal side of the threshold track which results in excessive condensation on the internal threshold track and bottom of the sash frame and window pane. Cortizo are fobbing me off saying its condensation caused by generalised atmospheric conditions which is rubbish because, as an experiment, I plugged these internal drainage holes and the cold air flow and condensation was eliminated. I don't know how Cortizo can make claims about thermal efficiency and air tightness etc when these internal drainage holes simply permit freezing cold air flow from the outside to the inside and cause condensation issues in the immediate area of these opern apertures. See photos If anyone can suggest an alternative sliding door system which does not have internal drainage holes, please let me know.
