Bungalow plans, ideas needed for my architect
Comments (121)I have built-in closets under the eaves of an American Bungalow style house in three bedrooms. They measure about 6'x 4', and my son even has a bed in one that is slightly larger, but the ceiling height is between about 2 1/2 and just barely 5 feet, so they aren't as efficient as they can be. In the master, I moved the rod to the back wall (it used to be only the depth of a hanger from the door) and down to a height to hang shirts and jackets, a little over 3' up, and this freed up the two existing short rods on the sides that are set about 4 plus feet up from the floor--long enough for most dresses, skirts and suits and such. This sort of U shaped arrangement works pretty well and the corners are for boxed out of season clothes and a short revolving (sort of a wire Lazy Susan) shoe rack....See Morei want draft for rental house
Comments (1)Sounds like you need an architect. Have a look at the Find a Pro section here on Houzz for architects in your area....See MoreCommunicating with architect - Our awkward house.
Comments (47)You can't have folding doors over a staircase!😆 I'm beginning to understand the problem here. You shouldn't be "totally stumped" on anything. That's the architects job! You just need to take your wishlist and suggestions to him/her. They will do a number of amendments until you are happy with the result. You can do some simple sketches but generally speaking you just need a bullet point list of things you don't like about the current design. Coming up with the solutions is the architects job. There's no point paying them if you're going to do the work for them. Everything else is in place and you've done the right thing by choosing them based on their previous work. It just seems like they might be a bit busy and aren't able to offer the amendments quicker. A professional firm will have already budgeted in the amendments so they don't lose anything by changing the design for you. I don't think they are trying to fob you off. The amendments will always be limited by budget, planning permission, health & safety and site conditions etc. If you really aren't happy with their service maybe consider taking what you have and speak another architect. The current firm have done all the hard work so the new firm won't have to do much to tweak the design....See MoreWhat can be done against architects and their builders
Comments (6)Give it a rest Adam. You are clearly not affected by this issue, you have stated you are not directly related to the homeowners, you have failed to direct your actual query to either the builders, the Architects or the administrators of this site. And instead you have rubbished someone’s professional reputation in a public forum and you have claimed that positive reviews are not to be trusted because you have posted some pictures without context. Worse still you have failed to tag in any of the parties concerned and thereby given them no opportunity to defend themselves. Furthermore you have created a brand new profile in order to make this one spurious claim. Your actions remain contemptible. So make no mistake- it is you that is very much out of order and you should delete your post and read up on False or otherwise defamatory statements posted about a person because they could form the basis for a libel lawsuit seeking damages against you. People make the mistake of believing they are shielded by a cloak of anonymity when they post using a username they do not think can be traced back to them. IP addresses are routinely used to identify people who used the internet believing they were safe from detection....See MoreBubble S
