Which colour combination for island lights

Hi,

I love these lights and have one in amber, it's for a kitchen island, with room for three in a row.

They come in different colours. So would you go for all three the same colour, or mix them up?

I am tempted to do three different colours, as I love the red and green. Maybe too much like traffic lights. :)

Hi Christina,

Great choice, however I would go for three of the same. It will help you create a cohesive scheme in your kitchen. Too many colours confuse the eye and the focal point gets missed.

Hi Sheron, Kitchen is looking great - is it just just behind the hob you were looking to do? Couple of ideas: 1) could get a piece of clear glass cut to suit and screw in place (with rubber grommets to protect glass) - you can then use it like a picture frame and put photos/maps/postcards etc behind it - and change whenever you want 2) I'm still stalling on what to do with our hob splash back, so I've painted that section of the wall in matching paint, but in an eggshell finish. This means it's wipe-down and keeps the room quite minimal whilst I decide - but I might keep it this way! 3) tiles always look great and are very durable - I'd always recommend getting lots of samples before committing to any of them though 4) you could get a slab of the same worktop material to run up the wall? Re: the stools - whilst not very modern looking, they look fairly robust and reliable - so you could always investigate keeping these and painting these in your chosen feature colour?

I know exactly what you mean! We are building a house and am trying not to have dark grey, I loved a khaki greenly grey colour but unfortunately it won't sit as well with the other materials which are basically black timber cladding and white render...so I'm going with black aluclad Windows. I must admit the plans look good with them so I'm trying to convince myself they aren't like dark grey and won't become the next 'rosewood' window fad! I received an expensive window quote today where I was told black isn't a standard colour and costs 7% more than if I chosen dark grey!

Hi P108 P What we know is that she is a teenager, and doesn't like pinks, but she likes greens and blues. Consider painting ceiling and walls in different colour than white - consult with her. Copper and graphite work well together. Perhaps look at something along the lines of Calacatta Marble. Here’s a small kitchen we did. Graphite on the bottom with copper handles and Dove Grey on the top, Calacatta Marble worktops

Thanks, I will go with the Amber then and will find another place for the green or red in a bigger size.

I just love the pop of colour they bring. I have spent months looking at lights, so it's great to finally find something.

They are Dipping Pendant lights by Marset. They are based in Spain and hand dipped three times in the colour.
