Is my Parex render the wrong colour?

Hi I’m new to this forum. Can anyone help me? I’m having my house rendered in Parex Natural White. I have used Parex before and the render has always gone on and stayed the colour of the sample. However on this occasion the Natural White has gone on more of a Sand colour. My contractor is telling me that it will go to the colour of the Natural White sample but it will take a long time to do this because it has to dry out first. As I have never experienced this in the past with Parex (previous colour used was Athens Sand) it’s making me very stressed. Am I stressing out for no reason? Has anyone experienced the same with Parex Natural White and it worked out ok in the end? Thanks for your help.

They are sliding. We deliberated at length. Our architect was always in favoir of sliding. They felt they were more contemporary in look but the main reason was that most of the year they are closed and so we had less panels and less frame with the sliding. I am so glad we went with their advice because we get such a lovely lot of light and connection with the garden with fewer panels and frame. The sliding mechanism works beautifully and there is lots of light. When open they take up no space in the garden. The only downside is on a massively sunny day when you may get the urge to sling doors right back and open like bifold but you have to remember that there is usually then still the width of the stack of doors at the end and for us over our width of opening and with the doors we chose that would have meant 5 bifold doors stacked up. At least when our sliding are open you can still see through the glass of the end panel. Ours slide 2 over one so 2/3 is open. And they can slide to either end. Hope that helps.

Hi Charlotte I understand where you are coming from about the brick detail around the windows and sills which are lovely but they are small designer details whereas the porch is a much bigger area of bricks and if it were my home I would certainly render it as the rest of the house.Also although the porch has always been like that, it looks like it has been added on later, I may be wrong and just been left with bricks exposed.You have also got the nice brick paving around the house. Why don't you just print the picture of the house out, put a tracing sheet of paper over it and just colour in the porch the same colour as the render and you will get a better idea of how it will look. Or maybe render the porch and just as you have the brick detail around the windows just do the same around the porch, this would look really good too. Good luck Jean, Art Decor Designs

£800,000 in debt after making sure they had taken all the money they could no doubt. The Dyes could easily solve your letterbox and sealed unit issue if they were interested in doing the right thing, as they only place these orders with another company in Lithuania, who are still the same supplier for Hatches. Fyntons/Hatches are basically selling on the contract for significant profit...if they ordered those parts again for you it would cost them next to nothing. Being a Covid issue is absolute nonsense...every other business involved in building and renovation is booming since Covid. And how strange to set up an identical business right in the middle of lockdown! Saw an opportunity to run with the money and start again.

I think I would go dark for the render like an anthracite which has a touch of blue in it and continue it for Windows, doors. I may be being totally ignorant (!) but would a glazier not be able to install mirrored glass cutting round the vent? If not, I like Jonathan's idea, there is a liquid mirror product on the market but no idea how effective it is or whether it would be suitable. You can also buy acrylic mirror sheets. i might also try removing the paint to see if they used the same bricks or not. If they did, you could add a window box as they have in the picture and you could add one of the window mirrors further along the wall (I really like Carolina's idea just not sure how it would work with the vent and position of the window next to the steps but may be wrong). I don't know if there is a cheap solution for the bricks under the top window. I would probably buy some tester pots in emulsion and add an exterior paint additive to make it waterproof or maybe find an evergreen climbing plant suitable for a pot and train it to go under the window
