Hallway combined with living room

Hello,


I used to have a hallway but I have now knocked out the wall to have a larger living space. I am now confused on how I should add lighting to the space. In the main living space I plan to have a backlit panel on the ceiling (like first image below), possibly accompanied by some spotlights around it. I would love some advice on what type of lighting would work well in the space that was the hallway. Below are picture of how the living space was, and how it looks now (wall has only just been knocked out). For info - Living Room Before 2 - the back wall is where the TV unit will be.








Any help with ideas would be greatly appreciated!
