Solution to lead on dormer windows?

What can be done to fix the look of the lead on the dormer windows? Have been told it is technically correct BUT very scruffy work. TIA

@hedgehog99 that's the plan. Frustrating when builder says he doesn't know what the roofer can do to fix it so readying a response.

If only was that easy. I am waiting for Building regs man to get back to me for meeting. Every option in the past been discussed via my builder whom I no personally . Unless Somethings been missed we have already put to him about external fire escape stairs, the fact that new back bedroom and loft will all have new windows that a person can get out of (sure I asked about fire escape ladder which was met with a "No not sufficient" ). Its a cottage so ceilings low hence height to evacuate from a 2nd or 3rd floor in event fire would not take long. I no its down to me to put all options to buildings regs he isnt giving anywhere here and obviously its not his job to come up with solutions.Perhaps when he next comes round now so much has been done and he can see for himself windows are escape route. For now its looking like he wont sign loft off as an official 3rd bedroom. If I have to accept that , so long as I got firedoors on all floors so be it. In long run I would obviously like it signed off. Alternatively not now as monies tight but ny architect suggested months back that I possibly get a private building regs inspector who may be a bit more giving on alternatives, it would mean though paying a 2nd time gor building regs.

I love dark exteriors but if this was my property having the same work as you I’d go with the type of colours Jonathon suggested but I’d definitely be a incorporating a covered porch especially since the front faces south and you are disrupting the roof already. They are the incredibly useful as well as giving an attractive and unusual architectural element. Re colours I think you should post examples and ask people’s opinions?? The ones I’ve attached aren’t suggestions but just reference images to drive consideration

Heyyyyy so, I’m not sure whether anyone will see this but just wanted to say thanks for all your thoughts and advice. I ordered the windows in Feb and they’ve been done today- thought I’d share the results! I went for anthracite flush casement with a Georgian bar- absolutely love them! We also redid the tarmac drive and added in a planted bit at the front with olive, lavender, bay and box, painted the slate grey render white, painted the UPVC door with Frenchic paint in Cool Beans, new lantern etc. Interested to hear any other suggestions if people have them. I think it’s made a real difference to the style of the house, and we did a lot of it ourselves reasonably easily.

Is the roofer a subcontractor of the builder, or an independent contractor? If he's a subcontractor I'd be very unhappy with your builder's response! It looks like there may not be enough lead there to wrap around the ledge. If there isn't, the roofer will need to do it again with a new piece. If there is, presumably he needs to tuck it underneath neatly and fasten it in properly so that the water will drain off it properly into the gutter. I don't know exactly how it's supposed to look - we have lead around ours too but it doesn't finish on a ledge in the same way, it;s just a neat straight line under the window which then meets the roof. The difference is that ours looks neat all over and there are no flappy bits!
