Grey or white fascias/gutters and details for our rear extension?

Here's a photo of the rear extension, do you think we should have white or grey fascias?
We're having anthracite bi-folds, roof lanterns and windows and it'll have a light cream render all over.
If you've got any photo's of examples/your extension which look similar that would be great. I feel devil is in the detail, so any ideas are more than welcome.
The white windows at the rear are being replaced with anthracite

Comments (16)Sounds like a great combo Mairead, we're in the process of doing something similar (just without the bifolds!). You could even look at having a 'Stiffkey Blue' Island for contrast (farrow & ball colour again). Wood would provide a warmer feel and if you found the right choice, the balance would be great against the hand-painted units. Ultimately both can be integrated so they look like they run outside, beyond the bifolds, which will be the look i'm sure you want to achieve. Comments (21)Hi AR, Tiles/Wood effect tiles are an option however you'd be surprised where real wood flooring can go. All our engineered/solid wood flooring is suitable for any room excluding wet rooms. The advantage over tiles is that it can be easily repaired if scratched/damaged. Also in terms of heat, if used with underfloor heating it will hold the heat for longer periods of time as tiles tend to disperse heat faster. Wood is a better natural conductor of heat as opposed to stone/tile, hence why we use them with fireplaces/barbeques etc. (please only use engineered wood flooring with underfloor heating). Not only that but if you wished to change the colour of the floor in 20-30 years it is easily done by simply sanding and applying a stain/varnish. Our flooring has been used in restaurants/bars hotels, as well as residential properties, so do not rule it out as there are many designs/styles available from standard planks, to antique boards, chevrons, Versailles panels, herringbone etc. Just have a quick look through our projects to get an idea. Comments (18)I have to say, I'm leaning towards option 1. As I may have mentioned in the past, I suspect the trend for grey and anthracite windows/doors/sofitts etc will end sooner or later and what folks will find is they're left with external features that date a house but would be expensive to fix. And whilst I like the look of the grey now, I also remember liking the dark wood windows in the late 80s at the time, but now think they date a property. :-/ (sorry to offend anyone who may have them)....See MoreDouble Story Extension - any one else starting a project soon?
Comments (74)Wow that looks beautiful, I am jealous of the brick. We wanted a very similar colour brick but the council wouldn’t allow and I didn’t want the red brick so we went with blocks and hopefully crisp render. We started our build towards end of Jan. Double extension, the foundations laid and then had the structural engineer out and final final details drawn up. The ground floor blocks have been laid and the scaffold has gone up so don’t know how long that will take. Our builders seem on track and have said August finish but I think it will be September/October Tani how many bedrooms did you have built and how many rooms downstairs?
