Best flooring for open plan kitchen diner lounge?

Need advice on flooring ootions for new open plan kitchen, dinner and lounge area.
Initially i was considering plain off white large tiles as it's a big space 6m x 9m.
I am torn between the warm tones wood gives vs practicality of tiling and have considered wood effect tiling or luxury vinyl but i don't want it to look cheap as we are going for a high end look. We will also have underfloor heating. If anyone has used these any feedback would be very useful.
We will also have a seperate lounge which will have double doors opening into the open plan area and I'm not sure if it should have the same flooring or different? Someone recommended engineered wood flooring for the front lounge...

Thanks urban space - we don't have under floor heating and the wood floor we had fitted about 5/6 yrs ago has been a nightmare. We did have an expansion joint but had so much movement and warping. We had the company back out beginning of this year and we had wanted to have a new floor at that stage but they said they could put right the existing one. Not sure on the technical term for what they did but they effectively relaid/ straightened it and used a resin with wood chips in to fill the gaps so you couldn't see them but within 5/6 months we have movement again and now all this resin is starting to rise out the top. For that reason I'm just not prepared to have a proper wood floor again - it might be down to the fitters but it has been extremely costly. By the time you add our dog into the mix and the scratches he has added to it I think a fake wood effect is the way to go for us

I definitely like that you’ve gained a clear run from the hall way so you can see out to the back. I don’t think having the dining space diagonally really matters and as you say you gain extra light there. Also depends how much you use the table/living room/kitchen. I often Potter in the kitchen so would want that to be light enough to not always need to turn on lights, and often sit on the sofa and read so the same, but only eat evening meals at the table so it’s less of an issue, but if you use it all day, or have kids drawing there then you’ll have different priorities. I think if you can block off a small corner to create a utility cupboard that might be useful to help reduce noise in the open plan space. I think you could potentially do well discussing with a concept planner for the room. Many people on here have used OnePlan and recommend her. I think there are lots of options and everyone will have opinions of what works better but Presuming you’re doing this for you and not to sell then there’ll be additional considerations of your preferences and how you’d live in the space. :-)

You'll see every single little bit of dust on a really dark floor. Especially if it's a really bright room. But I do like the Blackened Spa. Having said that, I'd go for a lighter colour that isn't too orange (I think the Royal oak is too orange). I'd probably go for something like Pale Ash, from the same range.

Hi Luisa, It’s quite hard to advise without knowing the dimensions of your floor plan. Could you take some space from the current lounge to create a hall way? I’ve drawn out my first thought in rejigging the floor plan. The dining and lounge could be easily swapped over. This allows for a W/c and utility. ( Well, depending on what your dimensions are. Do you have the dimensions for the floorplan? Depending on your budget moving the kitchen to the back is doable but it’s always easier if you’re doing full renovation and the floors are up. The old kitchen could be an office or another snug?
