Suitable obscured glass for Victorian front door?
Comments (7)You could always have two pieces of plain glass installed and then spray them with glass paint. Rust Oleum do a good range. Alternatively, the multitude of firms that make glass splashbacks use toughened glass, which could be suitable for a front door. You could choose one of the colours that is already in your stained glass panel that you have and have two panels made up to compliment. You are best to approach a window firm and ask their advice, because you don't want to risk having glass that is easy to break and therefore leave yourself open to burglary. That is, unfortunately why lots of people used the wire. As when the glass is broken, you can't put your hand through and undo the door!...See MoreTypical Victorian Living Room
Comments (5)Have you considered Venetian blinds? We have a similar room in our Victorian home and have had these wooden ones for almost twenty years. We still like their look and have proven to be durable and very practical. Not the best photo and room a bit messy, but hey, we LIVE here... :)...See MoreTimber Frame Panels

Comments (5)I can’t quite tell from your picture if there is more damage to the panel itself, but at the very least it looks like the caulking job was appalling. You could try cleaning that up by scraping it off and trying again with someone who knows what they are doing. Alternatively you can also buy an adhesive bath sealant on a roll….it won’t look as nice but it will full cover up the messy edge....See MoreKate Hunter
