Wrinkles in photo

Hi, I wonder if anyone had any experience of getting wrinkles out of a photo? I have some framed pictures on my wall, some are bought prints, some are photo prints I've have enlarged from holiday snaps. For some reason the photos seem to have wrinkled under the frame. The prints which are on more of a high quality paper rather than photo paper seem to be fine! I'm guessing they absorb moisture more easily? Is there any way off getting the wrinkles out? I had read about low temp ironing between cotton sheets but I'm not sure I dare?.... Any advice would be great 😊

I’ve ironed mine in the past. Wrinkles are annoying.

Lots of pictures wrinkle eventually but having them reframed will really help. Do you have a good professional picture framer near you?

Karen Baumgarten mentioned fluoride. That's a whole other beast of a topic. Working in the water industry, I'm keenly aware of this topic and am passionately against fluoridating tap water. Provide me clean, safe water at a reasonable price. Do no add medication of any kind thank you. I've also wondered this and thought that photocopying them would be the best option. You could either take your stuff and arrange it on the copier yourself and print out. Or, if they are all on your pc, you could put them into Word (or photoshop etc) and they can printed out from a USB stick. Go to somewhere like a Staples that do large photocopying/printing in say A6 sizes. You can then pva them onto the wall with a watered down pva solution, or use wallpaper paste (test the paper first to see how it reacts as paste might make them too soggy) will be faster that way and if you leave it, you still have all the originals

wow stellahome, what a grand house and entrance! I'm intrigued! Do you have many original features left in the house? servant bells maybe? :) Post some pictures for us! I am very familiar with lassco, in fact I currently live 5 mins away from there, and pop in often, they have many wonderful items which really enhance an old house. Took a couple of more pictures today of the dresser, as even though it looks very worn, look at the dovetail joint details! They certainly don't make them like this anymore (unless you pay a hefty price for it!)

Sorry Tribbletrouble, I hadn't looked at the site for a while so didn't know you'd responded. Yes she is old (14) but she's always done it and only when you stroke her. Most fun when she shakes her head to give you a mini shower tho! I know it's a sign of health problems sometimes but as she's always done it, I'm sure it's just contentment drool.

You're right that some papers can be more susceptible to moisture, causing them to wrinkle over time. Ironing between cotton sheets can work for some prints, but it can be a bit risky, and I understand your hesitation. Here's a suggestion: you might want to check out a product called Argireline. It's not just for skincare; it's also used by some people to smooth out wrinkles in photos. It's relatively safe to use, but I'd recommend testing it on a small, inconspicuous area of one of your photos first, just to make sure it doesn't have any unexpected effects.
