New kitchen, old fridge
I’ve almost finished extensive work to knock three rooms into one kitchen diner; new plaster, floor and everything in between. The units are cashmere and midnight blue (all matt) with brass trims, ‘gold’ marble effect tiles and Portland pattern LVT. Sadly, my not-that-old (only 5 years) fridge is grey/fake stainless and clashes horribly, ruining the whole scheme. Please send thoughts and experiences on changing a fridge colour without changing the fridge, good and bad. Due to the work being almost but not quite finished, I can’t show the fridge in situ. Photos show colour samples against the fridge door.

Comments (7)I'd definitely recommend spending some more money and either getting completely new kitchen or at least replacing doors and fronts.Cling film wouldn't last, besides it would require some skills as you wouldn't want to have furniture covered in bubbles, wrinkles etc. thanks...See Moreminnie101

2 years agoThanks for that, Daisy. My question is what can I do now, not what could I have done in March when I placed my order. Given I have a 4 door fridge, with a control panel, like the one in the photo, I think attaching doors over the top of the existing ones may look somewhat clumsy, or even deny my access to control temperatures. I was particularly interested in either paint or vinyl wraps and what people’s experiences were. As you have a kitchen business, what would you do now, as a retrofit, and how would you ensure aesthetically pleasing access to the control panel. My doors and drawers are handleless matt slab. I don’t really believe the company that provided my cabinets could make an accurate enough door, given the range of problems I had with standard cupboards.
