Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up your living area I think a select piece of art would really make the room stand out, add interest and add a great talking point to the room.... Please check out my website if like the idea and please get in contact, commission work is also welcomed so if you like a particular style I can do in a select colour palette and size but with this it can only be done as a original piece and not a print.....but all prints i can do to the same size or smaller than my original paintings, so lots of options.. www.guigsart.co.uk

Hi David, A couple of questions: I assume that you're making a bespoke unit? Do you need access to the AV equipment for control, or are you going to use a separate control system (Control 4, Dusky, Magic Eye etc) so that the AV equipment can be behind a door? If you're going to use a separate control system, then you could get doors made that can cover up all the equipment and be made to look more symmetrical as they can be wider, possibly the whole width of the unit. Something a bit like this: One thing though, if you put doors onto a unit, please design in some ventilation, otherwise the equipment will cook

leave the TV wall mounted but bring it down a little and then you won't be ending up with neck ache and maybe put a shiny white cabinet to display some nice pieces. that's what I've done and it looks great.

Hi X in my opinion a full unit surrounding the tv wall would be too much as would pictures. I would suggest to move away boxes/small table and toys away from the TV area to give more space and to see what it looks like then. The wall could be painted to tie in with the other room but the same colour (but that depends on the furniture in that room at the moment).
