Absolutely love this extension and layout with the banquette! How wide is the actual room?

The opening we fitted to is 4500mm (maybe you would add roughly 650mm either side) so total roughly 5800mm

As a fresh pair of eyes looking for the first time, I don’t see a huge issue. With the close proximity of housing in the Uk and the relaxation of planning, lots of us are now finding our sight lines marred by our neighbours latest house improvements. That being said, as the person in residence before the extension, you are fully aware of the wonderful sky that you have now lost and as this roof line is new and outside your control, it’s presence is marring your enjoyment of your space. Adding greenery etc up high or adding screening to your glass will focus your attention more on this area of the room and the negative aspect of the new roofline beyond. How about buying yourselves a large, beautiful extravagant piece of wall art to go on the wall below that will be a positive focal point to make your heart sing! Our issue was our neighbours Juliet balcony on their large loft extension. I now enjoy the sight of a beautiful tree on our patio!

I wonder why there is all that leadwork around the window it is obviously serving a functional purpose but it is quite unusual. I think the combination of the grey lead with the white window surround is what jars a bit so you could change the window for one with a grey frame as a quick fix. I would get a window company in to have a look they can advise on the purpose of the leadwork and possible alternatives. You could consider painting that section to make the leadwork blend in. Or look at wall hung tiles in slate or wood that would detract from the window frame that you don’t like. I will try and add some photos

How much a rear extension + garage conversion costs?

Thanks Jonathan and Sarah! Does the cost £65K include the garage conversion as well? One of the quote is 65K (excludes new kitchen) including everything (garage conversion, flooring, ... and the other is 50K (excludes new kitchen). So we are still thinking about which one to go with, as we have a budget I don't want to start the process and pay more once we are in the process.

The internal width of this extension is 5879mm. the external dimension was 6500mm.
