Hi - the dark green leaf plants at the back are Euphorbia amygdaloides 'Robbaie'. The dark red/purple leafed plant is Heuchera Palace Purple.

If you've re-plastered and removed the shelf from above, etc., I'd just put a plant on it, like a Philodendron. Something that can live in a dark(ish) corner. If you put a table/floor uplighter behind it that will shine up the walls and light up that corner in the evenings, I think it could be a lovely effect (this one is from (loads available, for example on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Astro-4532-Limina-Uplighter-Plaster/dp/B005LVJPH2 )

Hi. If one of the level changes is 1.6m then you will definitely need professional support if you are putting in walls to retain the changes in level. If it is a wall that high, then it would be usual to get a structural engineer to do the design as it will need careful calculations to ensure it can take the weight. If you thought garden designers were expensive, then hold onto your hat for the engineers fees. A good garden designer may well be able to break the level change down into more manageable heights, that only require walls of a height that they could design for you. Obviously I don't know what the designers you had were charging, but remember it is a lot of work to design a garden, including time spent with you understanding what you want in the space, doing a detailed survey, including level changes, drawing the survey up to scale, designing the garden, drawing up the plan, doing drawings to demonstrate the design so you can visualize it, and planning the types of planting and materials for the build. It all takes time and expertise to do properly. It is equivalent to an architect for the garden.

I would build things up in increments as every time you add something it changes the overall look. Get the walls sorted and have in mind the flooring, then when all that is working think about the blinds. Looking at the images above they are quite small rooms and as they have lots of texture going on the colour is dark and desaturated. I wouldn't go too bright if you want texture, keep the palette limited.

It's interesting the mention of Insta. We were talking about this the other day - what looks good on a tiny square does not necessarily translate to real life. Things need to have impact on a small square to draw the eye, but in real life you need to live in a space and feel comfortable. I think we have all been sucked in at times! Anyway, Forza's previous mention about Skimming Stone is a good one. Greys tend to be blue based, green based or violet based. Blue based can look urban and tend towards cool, green based or violet based may be the way to go. Little Greene Slaked Lime is good, Skimming Stone woodwork, Elephants Breath walls Farrow and Ball etc.
