Colour scheme help please!!!
Comments (8)Hi. I like the colour it is, it's a lovely room. I think gold would be too much personally. If it needs painting i'd go for a chalky white. I would pick up more of the black accents. Add maybe 3 black framed pieces of colourful modern art ( picking up greens and blues as well as red and yellow) over the sofa (similar to what you have over the fire). In terms of a rug would you consider a cowhide Which they also do in white and gold. I only say as they're easy to just plonk on a floor rather than arrange with seating given the size of your sofa. Have you tried moving the sofa down towards the fire with maybe the gold chair in the left corner by the trifolds ( not right in the corner though) so it incorporates all of the sideboard into the room? Add a floor lamp in the other corner of the doors, maybe a tripod with a charcoal or black shade. I'd clear all the books on the cabinet under the shelf. Maybe add a colourful table lamp with a plant and another accessory. Try rearranging the books so you have piles as well as upright which may (hopefully!) give you some more space, you could also pop a little print or vase off centre. Perhaps a mid century style table?...See MoreNeed help with Scandi style furniture/colour scheme for living room
Comments (6)Hi, the space looks fantastic with those wooden stairs and rustic beams. I agree with the comment above about the sofa- would look and feel more comfy if you went for fully upholstered one. I think you could play with whites, greys, black and wood colours and chose one more to add: yellow, blue or even red/pink to fit your chair in. Whitewashed clay pots with green plants would add a lot of warmth as well: I am making oversized wooden clocks that could infuse your cottage with even more character, few examples and link to my website below: Peak Art Handmade Wall Clocks Anna...See MoreNeed help with my open plan kitchen living room colour scheme
Comments (6)Hello there, Thanks for your reply, and you’re very welcome. I have found you some similar colours to the list you have provided below: Farrow Ball Skimming Stone Dulux Elderflower Tea Farrow Ball Worsted 284 Dulux Dusted Moss 1 Farrow Ball Elephants Breath Dulux Knotted Twine I hope these colour suggestions are helpful. Unfortantly I wasn’t able to find the colour Wattle II or Wattle III, so I can’t match a Dulux colour from our range I’m afraid. If you would like to double check the colour names, or send me a link to the colours, I would be more than happy to find you a similar colour for you. Comments (4)I think you can buy specific primers for melamine but a multi surface primer would also work, zinsser is excellent, I think it's zinsser B I N you need but check which one. If you're painting them you could fill the holes for new handles? I would personally use a pro though, melamine is obviously plastic so doesn't absorb anything so you want a good finish (I'm not doubting your painting skills btw as that sounds a bit rude, I suspect they're better than mine!). That's tricky with lights.. Can you see much in there? Ideally I would also add downlights and a pendant over the table but that's a seriously messy job as you'd need the ceiling reskimmed after. You could look at something like a spider light (obviously not one hanging as low as this, just adding pics of what I mean!) or maybe a multi arm light to disperse it in different directions? You can also buy multi outlet ceiling roses so then can have the light of your choice. You could potentially have a plug in to the left of the window. I don't suppose there's a socket by the table?!...See MoreSonia
