Can you help me with this hallway to make hallway wider
Comments (7)Removing the console, changing the flooring and creating more interest on the walls, as mentioned above, would help. Also, creating a focal point at the end of the hall, perhaps by turning the bookcase around, or placing the lower cabinet there if it fits, with a painting above and a (faux) plant on top, using patterned wallpaper above the dado rail, perhaps panelling on the bottom part, and a row of mirrors on the long wall or a large mirror are all tricks to make it visually less narrow. https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/traditional-hallway-and-landing-traditional-hallway-and-landing-london-phvw-vp~12578864 https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/townhouse-central-london-traditional-entrance-london-phvw-vp~67103968 https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/malvern-east-transitional-hallway-and-landing-melbourne-phvw-vp~28664422 https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/monee-ponds-victorian-federation-transitional-hallway-and-landing-melbourne-phvw-vp~49082224 https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/entrance-transitional-entrance-chicago-phvw-vp~58742561...See Morewhat to do with my hallway
Comments (14)Hi, I think if the theme upstairs is grey and mustard, how about swapping the radiator out for a modern anthracite one. You could even opt for a vertical one to free up a little space and place a smaller console table to the side of it. There are more traditional styles and other contemporary radiators that would both suit the space. Either style would make a striking feature. We also agree that a big warming rug would spruce it up too. Good luck!...See MoreHallway entry - entryway table and mirror
Comments (8)Not sure what style you like, but this is a more midcentury look https://thestem.co.uk/plants/boston-fern https://www.madeindesign.co.uk/prod-mooon-led-wireless-lamp-h-41-cm-usb-recharging-by-fermob-ref530126.html https://www.maisonsdumonde.com/UK/en/p/round-golden-mirror-d81-yumbai-204172.htm? https://www.onlyhome.co.uk/furniture-c17/tables-c3/console-tables-c244/floyd-hayes-englewood-console-table-p4538/s7816...See MoreShould I paint my hallway dark?
Comments (22)Well the half wall is down :) I have a carpenter on the way to look at boxing in the pillar with the fuse boxes and cutting the step either diagonally across or circular. I'm thinking about replacing the carpet with a runner and assume I could do that with either shape? I'm either going for F&B Stiffkey Blue (2 in from the left, second up from the bottom), F&B Hague Blue (2 in from the right, second up from the bottom) or Valspar Play me a melody (first column, second from the top). Stiffkey and the Valspar are looking a bit too blue and Hague Blue may be too dark so going to paint bigger areas and see how they come out....See MoreSonia
