Comments (150)Craig, your question on Lighting Control. The rise of LED has brought new dimension to the lighting control debate. Lighting Control Systems such as Lutron are the best way to dim LED. We use Lighting Control Systems with 0-10v, DALI and DMX dimming and it's possible to get very smooth dimming to really low levels. I don't really want to suggest one system over another. I'm sure they all have their strengths. Rako offers wireless flexibility for retrofit applications, Lutron has a superb heritage and history of fantastic reliability. I'd look for dealers who are really experienced in using the system and a manufacturer with a strong local support infrastructure. We've got an introduction to Lighting Control Systems on our site here and there are some useful manufacturer downloads. http://www.brilliantlighting.co.uk/lighting-control/...See Morelimestone floors throughout house
Comments (5)Hi Wendy. Limestone floors are just as hardwearing as porcelain tiles. There are plenty of good stone sealers and cleaners on the market which make their maintenance easy and simple. We always recommend sealing the tiles really well before they are laid (surface and sides) and then another layer of sealer once they are fitted and grouted. Also, natural stone is just that - natural - so you should expect some natural 'ageing' of some tiles the longer they are down. We think this adds to their character and appeal! Please do get in touch with us if you want some more advice - you can always give us a call on 0845 5218 700 and we would be happy to recommend materials that are suitable for the rooms you are looking to tile. Comments (6)Hi annabellaamy, perhaps these images would help in your decision making. Greys have been trending for a while now, also as an advantage, you can always sand down engineered floors in the distant future if you ever choose to change the decor. Or you can always go for a hand finished floor as shown in the last link. In terms of practicality, as you can see through our images we have had our floors throughout all areas of a property (excluding wet rooms) and also regularly have them installed in bars, restaurants and hotels. Comments (2)Hi, porcelain tiles may be the answer. They are very tough and easy to clean, yet look amazing. The only drawback is they are cold underfoot so under floor heating may be a good idea, budget allowing. However I have them in my kitchen in slate effect without UFH and it’s fine. Funnily enough someone else has a similar dilemma on another post! Porcelain comes in so many finishes from stone effect to wood effect and here’s a few examples....See MoreF
