Hi there. Completely agree with everyone, you should paint the cupboards. I really like the colours in this picture as I think that the slightly 'greyer' off white cupboards would tie in well with your beautiful grey tiles. You wouldn't necessarily have to go so light on your worktop as in this picture. The laminate you showed in your third picture is really nice, where is it from? Currently doing my kitchen and trying to find a laminate that I like!

Slate patio - filthy and its new!

I have Brazilian slate. I had same issue when installed. So i used brick and slab cleaner from screw fix if i recall. Will add a photo of each i used in a bit. I then sealed them using a cheap slab sealer. Perfect, nothing wrong. cost about 20 quid for botha and 5 litre cans. They are now water proof, but slippery when wet especially with flip flops. opps.. Remember, if you need to allow soak away, you may not be able to use sealer as it creates a water barrier. but if its just in the garden on level ground sloping away form house you should be fine to go. As soon as dry, they are as good to go as before, but clean remember to let completely dry and needs 24 hours of good weather to dry. Use at least 2 coats. works a treat.!!!

Adding a slide over surface could help hide things in the sink ? Either a wooden or composite type surface that's larger than the sink but doesn't interfere with the tap (and new soap dispenser ) try TK Maxx or similar for a good selection of wooden and composite type chopping boards maybe ? Adding a hanging rail for dish cloths over a washing up bowl stored in the under sink cabinet might keep things handy - and can be rinsed and emptied as an when needed . A large jug can look pretty and hide a washing up liquid bottle too perhaps ?
