Bathroom layout help: which door to block up?

We’d like to take down the diving wall between the shower room and toilet to make a larger bathroom. We’re cant decide on the layout or which door to block up. The idea is to put a bath (with shower over) in place of the current shower, leave the loo where it is and relocate the sink either by the bath (if blocking the right hand door) or the loo (if blocking the left hand door) allowing a mirror above it. I can imagine the style of it (green/white, brass, natural wood, plants) but I‘m struggling to visualise the layout. Would like a wall hung loo too if possible

Another alternative is to elongate the toilet room and add a shower to make an ensuite for the adjoining bedroom to the left. But this could leave the main bathroom feeling very small. Just not sure what to do and I’d be so grateful for any advice!

You should add a sketch of floor plans, that will help everyone visualise it better.

This isn't what you want to hear, but we decided to keep the toilet separate from the shower room for a couple of reasons - more flexibility - someone in the shower doesn't prevent someone else going to the loo. And hygiene reasons - I don't like the thought of our toothbrushes sitting out beside the loo. We added a small wash hand basin to the loo room as it didn't have one originally (and a new loo). In the bathroom we took out the bath and replaced with a bath-sized shower and also added double sinks so kids can brush teeth at same time. Obviously neither room is huge but they both function well and they don't feel too small actually.

Generally though I'd say have the door into the middle of the bathroom so that you walk into the circulation space for all the different uses - so I'd close the door to the toilet and have sink straight ahead between toilet and bath. That also ensures that you don't see the toilet as soon as you walk into the room, which is something best avoided if possible.

Agree with the above post in that when you walk in you don't want to see the loo in front of you so block the door area off that would show that. Walk in by the shower

Looking to install a downstairs toilet and sink, with some storage. And also a downstairs shower. The problem is we wanted people to be able to use the toilet and sink without necessarily knowing there was a shower there, wondering if we could hide it cleverly so it's just for the occasional guest use, or family use and only we know its there. just wanted guests to look as though they were using a downstairs toilet. Please see pics - The entire area we have is 2.350 wide and 1750 the other way which would break up into 800 where the shower is and 850 the side where the toilet is left to right. Not a massive areas, so also dont want people to feel cramped. Any other ideas on how to position items to make the best use of my space and to keep the shower out of sight. I can move any doors at this point. The outside wall is the one where the toilet currently backs onto. Also looking for something maybe a bit more modern, would probably mirror the whole of the area above the sink possibly.. The door going into the toilet is from a side corridor that leads from the kitchen to the outside and side of the house. Thanks

This one bothered me........a lot...........kept me awake in fact.......terrible insomnia. Thus when I gave up and got up at 5am, I drew up this one.........to scale. The third bedroom for me is the issue. If you're going to the trouble of removing a bathroom and resiting it, then make the most of every available inch and make it worth it. The little bedroom as is, just re-using the bathroom, will not work for long. It's just too small. Once you've put a bed in there eventually, there's no room for anything else. Plus, you don't have to do it like that.......so, amend it. A flat with 3 good sized rooms is worth more and more importantly will last you a lot longer, saving costs on having to move.Basically with regards bedroom 3, I put two doors in the middle wall that's causing the problem for everyone. I pushed back the left hand wall to include the space under the stairs, giving the room a built in wardrobe. I put a square top right to give access to the Hallway for that bedroom and bedroom 2, since we didn't want bed 2 opening in to the lounge. Bedroom 3 then has plenty of room for a cot, a chest of drawers and a nursiing chair. Plus, when you want to move to a bed, it still has room for everything. The En-suite is sufficient and the family bathroom quite large, large enough for shower and bath to help future use.

I had a setup like this (without the bath) in our current house but decided to integrate them into one space (3x1.8) to fit a bath and made it a Jack & Jill setup and retained the door into the attached bedroom. TBH, there are times when I think I did the wrong thing as it was so handy to have the independent en-suite, even if it was 1x1.8 and had a loo, tiny sink and v small shower. My advice is to go for it! I would go with option 2 with a twist😉. In the en-suite, would you consider moving the sink to where the radiator/heated towel rail is currently and centralise the loo on the wall where you have it. I think this will give you better flow. In the main bathroom, I would have the door open the other way and put the sink on the door wall and nudge the loo a bit away from the bath. Also to mention that baths come in 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 so you’ll have the option to add storage at one end of the bath. We're about to do exactly the same, though your shower room looks a bit larger than ours, and windows are in slightly different positions.

As we have stairs down to the hallway right in front of the shower room door, we'll be closing that one and keeping the toilet one. Toilet is staying as is I think, I know not ideal to look straight into it but it's only the landing/bedrooms anyway. We also have two other separate toilets so would rather maximise the space as it will still be fairly small once knocked through.
