What colour roof tiles, windows and fascias?
Hello, I'm renovating a 1980s bungalow (see attached photo) in a conservation area and struggling to decide on the type of roof tiles and the colour of windows and fascias. On one side are similar properties with dark brown windows and brown concrete roof tiles, on the other are old cottages (various colour schemes) and almshouses. I don't want to stand out too much from the other properties, but I don't like dark brown windows! I'm considering Residence 9 windows in Clotted Cream (nearest RAL 9001), Silvered Oak (RAL 7006) or Irish Oak (RAL 1011). I'd welcome any help and advice on the exterior colour scheme. The front will be off-white/cream render and the rear will be the existing bricks. Thanks in advance!

Comments (38)@robert - they aren't 'cheap'! and as I said in a previous post, it does depend on the mark up put on by the supplier / fitter. I'm afraid I haven't experience of the 2 makes you mention, so couldn't compare. We bought direct, then paid fitters separately as a price we got for a local company to do it all (who are an approved supplier / fitter by CWG) was eye watering! - but it would be best to get someone who DEFINITELY has fitted them before because they are not 'ordinary' windows. VERY heavy. CWG choices in Corby should be able to help you. Comments (4)It’s quite difficult to see from the photos as the scaffolding is still up and we have mahogany windows which are very dated and I don’t want to keep. The fascias around the roof are black but I feel that the fascia is so large that black will be too huge and stark. I’m feeling in a dilemma. 2 years agoThanks. I'll contact the planning department to check restrictions on colours. I like some grey slate-effect clay tiles, but mindful of neighbouring properties which have brown concrete tiles. I've looked at Dreadnought but I don't think they'll work due to the minimum pitch. Maybe a brown-ish clay interlocking tile? Apart from one side of the house, which can't be seen from the road, we're replacing the bricks with Ibstock Beacon Sahara (see photo as example). The front of the house will be render.

last yearlast modified: last yearAfter a delay, now in the middle of renovating the bungalow but I'm having second thoughts about the colour of the windows. Currently have slate grey tiles and white fascias. I was planning to go with white windows (although the fascias are RAL 9010 and the windows only available in RAL 9003, so slightly different whites!), but I really like painswick/agate grey RAL 7038 windows on other properties. I'd welcome any advice before making a decision! I'm also unsure about the render colour for the front of the house to go with RAL 9003 windows. The back of the house is brick.
