Need help with colour scheme for a bedroom
Comments (4)I agree with you, the blue they've got in the advert doesn't look so great. It's definitely not cozy either! Maple tends to have both gold and pink tones, and so goes wonderfully well with all shades of orange. How about a pale wood floor with apricot and ivory tones? You have some good ivory colours in your second picture. I would start with choosing a rug you liked, I've uploaded a picture of one I would choose which would go well as a starting point, but there are lots to choose from. That would make a very cozy room and fit beautifully with the furniture....See MorePlease help me with colour scheme for my house
Comments (20)I was a die hard F&B fan - painted numerous houses solely in F&B for the finish etc. HOWEVER due to budget constraints, a current offer at Homebase on Dulux paint (inc. mix) , and the fact i'm painting an entire 3 storey house i experimented with colour matching F&B colours - specifically Cornforth White, Purebeck Stone, Ammonite and Pink Ground. Opting for the Endurance Matt and Flat Matt finishes by Dulux i was pleasantly surprised by the results. The colour match was pretty much spot on - i would caveat that the Dulux colour match won't produce matching finishes for all colours. For example Dulux couldn't match a flat eggshell in the Cornforth White so we bought Estate Eggshell from F&B and it goes perfectly well with the walls in the matched Dulux Endurance Matt. In the master bedroom we choose to use F&B Cornforth White and Pink Ground and estate emulsion and I felt it was a thinner paint than the Dulux! The added benefit of the Dulux colour match is that they can provide a number of different more durable finishes. Comments (12)Hi Anne, I so happy you like it. You told me that this bedroom have enough natural light so, the dramatic look would be perfect. I am agree with you, next step star painting the walls, painting furniture, choose the fabrics and the last lights and complements. When you have the essential would be easier to put the right complements. Anyway, about the mirror some advices: 1. Try to put the on the floor, don't worry it is not big enough maybe the result is good. You can put the existent mirror and then in front of it put another smaller. 2. Look the picture on the right hand, if you find an antic baul or box, put it with the mirror on. 3. If you don't like the option of the mirror on the floor, put them on the console (like in the picture) with more mirrors or frames and in the other side of the bed you can put the floor lamp, a stool with antic books, plant and boxes on the floor. 4. Another idea, remove the cello and put it near console (cello-console-bed) I hope you have space for this. And the armchair in the corner where the cello was with the mirror on the floor. Put in front of it another small like I told you before. These are just ideas, I think when you start with the decoration, it will be easier. If you need help when you are running with the work, contact me. And also, send some pictures with the result :)...See MoreColour scheme help! What to pair with dark green?
Comments (6)Hello Jeni, Maybe check out Ammonite from F&B I love how that looks in North facing room. Here is one. It's not with Green. Obviously, we always recommend you test the colours in your own space as I am sure you are probably aware, not only the light you get into the space but the colours it is paired with can change the appearance of the colour you intend to use. All the best, Gina...See More
