Help! Window crisis!
Hello,
Having a window crisis - help! We put an order in for aluminium windows for our old and new extension but am worried that the colour will date or not be ’in keeping’ with the local Wiltshire countryside vernacular. We chose Pastel Turquoise for the old stone and the new Larch cladding which will grey down, I would so love to see any pictures if anyone has used this colour as cant find any online.

Option 1 : Pastel Turquoise Ral 6034 on old and new (larch cladding) extension
Option 2: Pebble Grey (Ral 7032) on both old and new
Option 3: Pebble Grey on old and Anthracite Grey (7016) on new
Option 4: Anthracite on old and new
We are the house on the right from front! The brick lean to at the rear is coming down and there will be a large picture window in its place. Our neighbours have just had Agate Grey (7038) put in on both old and new.
I would love anyones opinion and input and to see any pictures using Pastel Turquoise or Pebble Grey in particular!

2 years agoI’d stick to one colour given you’re not just changing the one window. This is the pebble grey but I also really like your neighbours agate
I would normally try and stick to same/similar as the house is semi-detached but the pebble complements the agate if you went for that

Comments (14)I love shutters but I think they would totally change the look of your house which looks great btw.If you're going to have mouldings and drop the window box a little lower I would think about artificial plants. I'm just thinking plants will need a fair bit of upkeep and unless you go up a ladder it could be dangerous! I know people may well disagree on that but I'm just thinking about leaning out of a window! I've had a quick look and you may struggle to find mouldings (seem to be called pediments?!) which would blend with the house. Comments (14)Personally, I love the calmness you have created in this room and would stay with a very light linen fabric, that is tone in tone with the chair on the left. I would also paint the curtain rail white, for me it is too stark and disturbs the rest of the room. The fireplace is a great feature on its own and does not need to be colour matched, it will make the room too busy. If at all, you might consider a modern lamp that picks up the yellow. Comments (16)I have to agree with Crafty Countess about having a vinyl flooring. I would recommend Loose Lay by Karndean. The range comes in wood plank and stone tile effects, does not have to be glued down except around the edges of the room and damaged "tiles" can be easily replaced. They are made for commercial use, so are very durable and will retain their looks for years to come. From our own tenants, I've found that white or off- white works best. You'll never get a colour right for a tenant. In the past, we've hung curtains, which our tenants always ask to take down and put up their own. We've painted lightly fresh or richly cozy feature walls, which our tenants have asked to paint over. So we always use a neutral paint now. We allow our tenants to hang pictures, providing they repair and paint the holes when they move out and use wall stickups that they can take with them. 2 years agoI can imagine! is it worth getting an actual sample so you can see it in situ as I must admit the colour of the windows seen in the photo i shared before was a little darker and less yellow than the colour chart would suggest?
I‘ve also found a couple of pics with larch which appears a little more weathered. I’m not sure of the actual colours but the first looks like yours and the second maybe 7036??
