Filling empty space in lounge

I have a narrow living room with two windows and two doors facing in. any advice on what furniture i should add to help fill the empty space? Or any advice in general at maximising this room and building on what i have already
The kitchen and dining table is in the room next door so i dont need table and chairs

Whilst I prefer the sideboard in front of the window (to avoid the long line of furniture) it would block all the heat and I’m not sure the window is high enough for a console??

I would be tempted to add more of the ochre for curtains and if it’s far enough from the radiator an oversized plant in a woven basket.

I’d pull the rug an inch towards the tv and move the far table (in this pic) back and add a table lamp. Perhaps also paint the radiator/s in the wall colour? You could add a textured throw over the arm of the sofa under the window?

Perhaps in time replace the footstool with a slim brass/bronze and glass coffee table and add a knitted or fur pouffe at the ”bare” end?

Perhaps a sideboard or a nice chest of drawers so you can display some ornaments on top to take away the bareness at that end of the room.

In small spaces it can be hard to find an ideal space to fit a study area in and with corner desks and wall mounted desks etc it makes fitting a small study in anywhere easy. I think that is probably the most sensible option. Will just have to find a nice set of drawers or storage unit that would go well. I did envisage one of those Eames chairs and Ottoman with a curved lamp coming overhead Something like this

thank you @joe! i was thinking of a large mirror to reflect the wondow opposite and add light to the room. when i bought the house there was one there and i loved it. i would also like some cabinets right and left of the sofa with lamps on and some large art above. yes, good idea charity shops and second hand! i will post more pics as the room progresses. and thank you for the advice! 😊😊😊

I would suggest a tall display unit on the empty wall opposite the door . IKEA ‘ Billy ‘ range do two heights and open or glass fronted cabinets . They are very reasonably priced and look great when dressed . A cabinet would add visual interest and take the eye up . At the moment all your furniture is at a similar level .

Thank you both! I’ve found this range i quite like now need to decide what i prefer ☺️ Maybe a tall plant could help add height too!

Perhaps a larger rug extending the length of the room, extend your gallery, have same window treatments both sides and the storage unit would unite it all nicely.
