Walk in wardrobe/dressing room - Odd room! Help/Ideas please
Comments (7)Have a look at our pro page as we have some designs on there that suit sloped roof rooms - the secret is planning well to eek out as much storage space as you can. Sometimes, you can even access space behind the low walls into eves with drawer storage between the uprights ? (As long as this is done safely and no chopping out essential bits !!! ) so always good to have a professional install ! If you are in south of UK you could maybe look at Lamco ( they are on Houzz if you do a pro search ) As they make beautiful dressing rooms !...See MoreGot no room for a wardrobe
Comments (4)I encounter this fairly often. It's relatively easy to make a frame and doors to fit your exact space out of MDF and then paint to suit. I have done it many times for many customers. Also, use beds with underneath storage. Taller than average bedside tables? You can also hide chests of drawers / storage boxes & shelves within the wardrobe if you have them made. Bespoke is not necessarily expensive..........you just need to find the right chap to make them! There are some great 'Handymen' around, i'd look for one of those - steer away from actual bespoke carpenters as no offence, they seem to charge double and triple what I charge and the work's the same for that type of job. Yes, they're brilliant for staircases and elaborate woodwork, but not for wardrobe making ( unless you want a bespoke finish in Oak or such like). Utilising the space under staircases and over stair voids is also a must! I helped my daughter change a cupboard and a space over their stairs into a large cabin bed area with storage underneath. Here are a few before and after pics to give you an idea of how to free up space you may not necessarily thought of....See MoreHelp! need a paint color for north facing room with slanted ceilings
Comments (3)I know it's counter-intuitive, but I'd go deep saturated Blue/green...or Teal. All over. It will unify all the odd planes and angles in this room. Keep all the woodwork a fresh white. Use pops of jewel toned soft furnishings...to link the blue & taupe sofas...or... Use patterns in tribal/ ikat tones to keep it masculine. Build up some open shelving for storage along dead-wallspace near the door entrance to this room....See Morebuilt in wardrobe for slopy ceilings
Comments (0)Rooms with sloping ceilings are commonly reduced to storage space and are overlooked in terms of value-add potential. Decorate your sloping ceilings with a fitted sliding wardrobe spanning wall to wall and floor to ceiling. By transforming eaves storage space into bespoke fitted wardrobes or cupboards, you can have all the benefits of a normal shaped room, with practical built-in storage solutions....See MoreDaisy England
