New windows and front door
Hi everyone, this is my first post and I really need some help choosing the colour of new windows and style of front door. Incidentally we will also be changing the garage doors.so I’m looking for a colour palette that will give the whole house an update. I was considering agate grey then much darker slate grey. I would really appreciate your thoughts. Thank you in anticipation!

Comments (2)Hi. I'm not sure if you're just after window/door ideas? You could do similar to this and clad the 2 windows on the left and render the rest. I'd also go for a modern wood door. Again grey windows with 2 panes on the left, 2/3 on the right and the other 2 single. If you're keeping the brick I think french grey (more green than grey) windows look great against red brick but it's not such a contemporary look. Is the long window by the stairs? Comments (15)I think the render is a little clinical which is not giving a very true impression of the property and how the door he's suggesting will look.. that's one thing.. but saying that I still don't think it would look great. As mentioned above, when specifying for my clients, the first thing is budget and I also take into consideration the design inside.. after all this is the 'front', the 'entrance', the 'greeting' to your home. I would take into consideration how much light you need in the space, the colour you will have in the entrance and of course the overall style you want to achieve. Is it just that the white and brown don't seem to compliment each other.. or do you feel that door looks dated? I’m helping my daughter house hunt and she has just rejected looking at a 70s house that’s had hanging tiles replaced with wood as it just looked odd against the adjacent houses and she was concerned about maintenance. If you wait till the building is done you will not be able to progress with the rest of the work till the doors/ windows are in place....See More

2 years agoFront doors are really personal and you can have much more freedom. However with your current design I would be tempted to stick with the agate. However - are you changing the design? Another quick Google and I found this lovely example of agate windows with a red door. It’s gorgeous - but the front door design is traditional and suits it. I’m not sure your current door in red would suit it as much.

2 years agoIs it a barn conversion? Stylewise, i think a panelled door like this would suit? Hopefully any light lost by the door would be gained with the full length side light, assuming privacy isn’t an issue although it doesn't appear to be?

2 years agoIt isn’t a barn conversion, it’s a 1980’s dormer bungalow however it shares a drive with a Georgian grade 2 property and is bound on two sides of the garden by grade 2 serpentine walls so I was trying to increase the character to fit in to a certain extent. I’m considering flush sash windows with one horizontal bar.

i actually like your existing windows but with slimmer glazing bars as below. Out of the options i think 7012 would be my preferred
