Change floor tiles from hall to downstairs toilet? Poll- which tiles?
Comments (12)That's interesting colourhappy - we did omit the aqua tiles and put just the taupe with blanco (which has some grey tones in the variations) but it looked a little bland which is why we thought the aqua might liven it up but now I'm thinking you are right and they are too cool for the flagstones....See Morewhich way to lay wood effect tiles?
Comments (54)The floor person does have a point I guess, in old houses the walls are never straight due to movement and in the new extension the walls might not be straight due to the person doing the dot and dab not making the walls straight despite the actual brick walls being straight! Look forward to seeing the end result, it’s a lovely huge space!...See MoreKitchen colour confusion
Comments (7)Your kitchen is very similar to mine! The units look absolutely fine and I LOVE those sage green tiles! I was going to change my oak worktop, but had a bit of a wobble at the huge cost of quartz so decided to rub down and re-oil the worktop and it looks good now! If you are going for quartz, then a more cream/stone coloured one would go nicely. I wouldn’t go for black, it’s a pretty dated look. Upstands and splash-backs are a personal thing, some prefer that and others prefer tiles. Go with your heart, it’s your kitchen not the builder’s! This is my sisters quartz worktop. She didn’t want stark white either....See MoreVenting hob - so confused which to go for!
Comments (16)Hi Pam, we went for the Berbel Downline Performance Permalyt on the extremely strong recommendation of our kitchen company owner who is a friend of a friend and been in the kitchen business for decades. They offer a highly bespoke and friendly kitchen design and advisory service. They were fantastic to deal with and use the same Berbel in their own homes and demo'd it for us in their workshop. We were concerned about whether to externally vent or not and they talked us out of doing so as simply not necessary. That's a big call for an expensive extension and kitchen but we went with their advice. The Permalyt vent mechanism does take up room directly under the hob, so make sure your design accommodates for it, if you go for it. Their kitchen fitter told us that you can cook a fish on the hob and then smell the recirculated air coming out of the bottom vent and you cannot smell anything. If that really is the case then it is truly remarkable. We will find out in a few months time. They told us about how it filters out oil and cleans using the Permalyt technology; how easy it is to clean and maintain etc. Can't help you with Bora other than to say they never got a look-in as a result of the steer we were given. The Berbel Permalyt does need to be fitted by an expert though, apparently. Also, order early is what we were told and don't forget that European factories shut down in August! Best of luck with your decision and hope this helps!...See MoreSonia
