Playroom Flooring - Are carpet's such a bad idea?

I know wood floor is another more practical alternative but i dont want to mix two wood floor's together as the playroom is off our hallway which leads into open plan kitchen diner all with the same LVT floor.

nothing wrong with carpet in a playroom - nice and soft on your children's knees! Just make sure it doesn't have a deep pile that you will lose lego in! or is there any reason not to install the matching lvt that you have in the kitchen diner?

I would think it over thoroughly. It could be very uncomfortable on your feet, and If you have pets, hair would not just simply be vacuumed out. I think stairs could pull it off, but I don't think a large area would be good for it. Also, with kids, if you were to stain it on accident, that wouldn't be fun I clean. Hope this helped!

Hi. I would either build a window seat and put the dining table in the bay or centre the table to the window/room and then have a sofa against the radiator where the ironing board is (with a small side table and floor lamp). I'd keep the floor and use a rug, when the baby is older it will be much easier for clearing up. Go for either built in cupboards in the alcove for toy storage or use white cabinets with doors or even wardrobes so everything is out of sight. I'd choose a white scheme for walls and use a mix of either bright or pastel colours to lift it for cushions, lights, rug etc so it looks fun and contemporary and appeals to both adults and kids. Paper the chimney breast with something that is contemporary but will again appeal to kids something like a scion paper for example. I'd use blackboard paint on the door ŵall behind the table. Until the baby is older write or draw wine names or bottles or similar! and put an oilcloth on the table for crafts. Choose contemporary art, maybe typography and some fun prints.

Its incredibly stylish. I have two boys and not sure I would dare but mine are messy and chaotic! Did wonder if adding a footstool or beanbag or two might make it more teenage friendly and nice for friends too. We have a mock sheepskin beanbag here and it is much used/enjoyed...

I don't know what everyone likes stylewise or colours but I quite like the houses on the wall in the first pic on the wall where your sofa is. The kids could update the characters in the Windows using decals when they grow out of a phase. It's only paint so easy to paint over when they're teenagers. The rest of the walls i'd do in a scrubbable paint. Where the radiator is i'd add a table like pic 2 but with the shelves underneath the table in pic 3 for craft storage (maybe make it deep enough for a games console in the future). I'd also add cheap shelves above for art and pencil storage etc with bins etc. The desk could be raised when they grow but also used as a tv stand when they're older. The eames chairs are kids one, they're easy to keep clean and quite cheap at £25 (seat height is 32cm) for when they grow out of them. I'd add a rug in the middle and the beanbag by the bookcase. You could add a "once upon a time" or a "read" decal over the bookcase And maybe star bunting or Pom poms over the eaves to cosy up the reading area. l'd add clothes pegs on the cupboard door for their dress up stuff plus a couple of toy bags for lightweight bits. I'd keep the rest of the room free for play (although the existing drawers could be handy) and when they're older add a sofa for tv, PlayStation etc. What type of lights do you have ATM?
