Help My loo needs glamour!

After recently moving into a cottage built sometime in the 1800s ive finally got around to tackling the family loo. The smallest room in the house is causing me a bit of a delema. As most of our savings are being used up downstairs knocking through into the bathroom isnt an option at the moment so im wanting to replace the loo itself with a 2 in 1 loo and basin combination or add a small washbasin. Would anyone have experience of the combi loo? and give advice on if this is a sensible option please
Also any ideas on how this tiny room could be made appealing or glam using either wallpaper or paint would be much appreciated. all the designs i fall in love with are for full sized bathrooms 🙄

3 months agoI was actually thinking brighter colours make it look more airy and still keeping a little cottage theme to it, also instead of the combi how would you feel about a corner sink a bit more of a space saver and just as glam with the right touches?

Comments (11)Paint the doors, change to bifold doors, etc. Coat rack IN closet not next to toilet. Paint a lovely color on toilet wall and white toilet lid. Cheap wine rack with rolled towels where coat rack is now. Artwork or shelf with pretty things above toilet. Mirror above wood mantel above sink. Comments (24)Hi All - taking on board your comments I have come up with three variations. Of course would love your comments! The distance from vanity to WC in plan 1 is approx 60cm - it could be made a bit more. This falls within the guideline you posted (23inches). More space could be created by making the shower a bit narrower (shown on all 3 plans as 1m wide (39 inches). I don't think there is quite enough space to divide the room and the problem with the idea of the bath right in the middle is that on a practical basis we would have to walk around it on a daily basis to get to the shower! Comments (8)Hi Missy, Have you thought about having a shower fitted instead of a bath in the en-suite? Showers can be a lot more space-saving and economical done right. Plus, the technology's come a long way, giving you just as luxurious an experience as you'd have in the bath with options like rain jets, cascade (waterfall-like), lights, aromatherapy and speakers to play music through. What kind of style are you going for in the en-suite? The above are all quite contemporary but we have some traditional bell-shaped rain showers as well. Comments (7)@buildcloud Unfortunately, it is old cottage, with no corridor, neither entrance hallway. Entry right into the living room, which we have tricked a little already. Cannot add the hallway , the only other option would be to get the loo entrance on the other side, that would be from the living room? it wouldn't be comfortable solution anyway ... Unfortunately I don't have a full floor plan, but it is easy to imagine mirrored room (living room) to the kitchen and the current WC is located just under the stairs with the entrance off the kitchen.Hope it makes sense...See More

I was just wondering if firstly you had any scope to have the door open outwards? It would make a huge difference I think to the amount of space you'd have to the room itself.
Ikea do a great range of small sink units that are very narrow and perfect for a small space but you would have to look at this in terms of plumbing!
As the space is totally separate to the rest of your house or part of a larger bathroom I always find that you could have a bit of fun with the design and make it really different and interesting. i designed one recently using the below moodboard as inspiration!
