Asbestos to garage ceiling

We have an asbestos garage ceiling and have the option to have it removed but its very expensive is it possible and are you allowed to overboard the asbestos or even fit a suspended ceiling to cover the asbestos

so any kind of messing with asbestos is always advised against unless its professional, ive lived in properties with it in the floor and was advised to floor over it as it would cause more damage and be more dangerous to remove or take apart. usually you can directly message an asbestos company and just ask such as central environmental i think theyre called.

There's no reason a good plastered wouldn't be able to cover that with a bonding cost and then another plaster cost Alternatively if you use smaller boards I would imagine plasterboard adhesive would hold it as the weight will be spread across smaller sections

I’m no expert, but removing the old mortar is a pretty labour intensive job. Have you got the patience to do it, or the funds to get a builder to do this? I needed a small wall rebuilding in my garden and I suggested using the same bricks to my builder, and he said it would be a pretty long winded job to get all the mortar off, so we decided to buy new bricks.

Some artex has tiny amount of white asbestos in it. White doesn’t stay in your body, your body spits it out. Blue and brown are the dangerous ones. White is the least dangerous type. Read up about it. Over boarding is fine. Any dust will be trapped between the new plasterboard and the old ceiling when you screw the new boards to the ceiling. Its called encasement and is safe.

Hi, I have an old concrete panelled garage which I would like to use as a workshop, but it’s freezing cold inside, I have new double glazed windows to go in it and the roof has been replaced recently so it’s now watertight, it used to have asbestos concrete sheets which used to leak terribly! Anyway I’m looking to Baton and insulate the walls but I’m unsure about how the best way is to do this with how the garage is constructed, I’ve attached some pictures to show how it looks, any help would be appreciated, thanks.
