wondering what pots/plants would work on my pebble steps?

Would be grateful of some help, I’ve recently transformed my front garden, unsure what pots/plants to use on my steps? I’ve posted the other side to give you some idea. Will need to match the black pots? thanks guys.

i would match the pots definitely but you could swap your choice of plants, depending on what you want. if you wanted lot maintenance plants id maybe go with something simple like mini fir trees, or small willow trees which can look really pretty even in colder days. Or if you wanted something more involved and needed a bit more hands on grooming maybe something like a lilac tree theyre beautiful in colour but also made need some pruning.

Hi there - As your bathroom is not very big, I would paint everything white, including the shelving unit you have behind the toilet, or change this to a white shelving unit that would hang on the wall. Keep the floor and the wall tiles white! Also the nice little storage unit you have on the floor next to the toilet should be painted white + the side of the bath. The side of the bath could also look good with slated white painted wood panels (make sure to use strong water proof paint here or anywhere near water - and always make sure to ventilate so you do not get mould, which can easily happen in a small bathroom)! Then all you have to is to accessorise with your favourite colour(s) - max 2 colours, but 1 is even better ie towels, bottled soaps, same colour pot with green plant, and it will look much bigger and cleaner (don't misunderstand the last word) trust me you will feel like you have just had a new bathroom...less is more as they say...(by the way, the floor tiles are lovely, but you will make your little bathroom even smaller by using these)...good luck, and please let us see the end result whatever you decide... :) PS! Are the taps ok on both the sink and on the bath? Sometime changing these can also make a bathroom look new and fab, and they are not very expensive to replace... :)

Frogs also eat slugs and snails and are a general benefit to any garden if you can get them. But I do share your dislike of gravel, Caroline. Rocks and large stones I can use. Gravel is messy and tends to end up in places it should not be. Try to find a couple of trustworthy labourers who are not work-shy and hire a skip too. A couple of rakes and shovels plus a wheelbarrow if your labourers don't have their own. The lot should be shifted in a maximum of two days. One day if you've managed to get most of the area into those three camera shots. A skip large enough to take that lot will cost you around £200 depending where in the country you are. Labour costs for this type of work do vary quite widely. If you keep the pond and the patio you have two excellent focal points to plan the rest of the garden around. Think about your lifestyle and how you would like to use the space. Do you enjoy cooking? Then get the herbs growing as close as you can to the kitchen door. Do you enjoy gardening? Then plan your garden to suit the kind of gardening you enjoy - shrubberies, flower beds, borders, fruit, vegetables, will you need a greenhouse? Bear in mind which parts of the garden are in total sun, total shadow and what times of day shadow falls on which parts of the garden. Entertaining? Then plan for your desired flow of people and the focal points you wish your guests to congregate by. Situate them accordingly. Take your time. Rewrite it and rewrite again until you are happy with it. Or commissin us to do it for you. ;-)

Hi, If you want simplicity I'd go for removing the grass and replacing with pebbles. There is an easy honeycomb system that holds the gravel in place, so good for driving over and still looking tidy. Have a look at "cedagravel" (there are cheaper alternatives but make sure there is a base membrane attached to the system to stop weeds). If you leave empty area in the middle you can plant Karl Foester Grasses which will blow gently in the breeze and stay upright with low level planting surrounding it. If you don't like grasses choose a small tree like a Chanticleer Pear Tree which will give interest most of the year - white flowers in the early spring and golden leaves in the autumn (a longer lasting deciduous tree). Always try to go to the nursery and pick your plants directly - or get actual photo as they can vary! Look at Round Box Balls, Hakonechloa or Mugus Mop to plant around the base. These will make the look tidy as the base of the grasses can get a little messy in the winter season. Good luck!

Hi Becky! I love the idea of copper and mint green kitchen. You've already bought some minty stuff which is great, you can still use them. Heres what I'm thinking... 1. Get some spotlights in there perhaps underneath your wall cabinets? 2. Love the idea of bringing in more herb pots & plants. 3. Change the tiling to mint green or perhaps something a lot lighter, like the marble effect? It will go perfectly with the mint green theme.
