Table lamps to work with mix of lights?
Comments (10)Tee hee, I think of it an updated classic minus that shade!! Have you looked at India jane? Some of them are quite reasonable. I pretty much like all of them but may not be your thing. Is the lamp to go on a table near where the boys play? Could you swap other lamps if you want glass? Or would a desk style brass lamp work, maybe a more modern retake? Or again I'm not sure it's your thing but you could have a ginger jar base and get a shade to match....See MoreFeatureless Uninspiring Lounge
Comments (4)Hi Georgia, In order to make a sitting room more appealing I would recommend: Use pattern on the walls, to create activity and stimulation - maybe if you don't feel you want to cover all of the walls, create a focal one, this way you could place the TV on it either on the wall or on a stand. Could you create a fake wall on a wall which stands out like a fireplace and then build or buy units to go either side to create another focal point, this way you could put the TV on the wall and you would be able to arrange your seating around this area. If the sitting room is lacking in features, add coving, and maybe larger skirting's - depending on the style that you like. Normally with large sitting rooms I would create smaller areas of interest, so you may have a sitting area for quiet reading, an area for watching TV, an area for display. Try to layer your lighting to create atmosphere - table lamps, floor lamps, wall lights, pendant lights, downlight's and candles for atmosphere. There are so many things to consider, but take a step at a time and think about what you want the room to do for you, what activities take place in this room and how you want the end result to look and feel like. Comments (7)Hi joelizabeth, They ship internationally and sit in a showroom that is twice the size of your living room... They are actually quite sizeable, granted they are not larger spheres, but offer a different kind of cluster light because they can hang quite low and they offer bespoke sizing.. I see what you mean- they do really work with grey or a darker colour scheme.. but the transparency of them can look really magical.. They have bright led's inside which illuminate the pebble - and so accent the little lights you have on those twigs.. With a couple of lower lighting options like a table lamp or a wall light... I could see them hanging off centre quite easily... Leaving the fan well alone.. Having them sitting off centre, is more interesting sometimes than having everything looking symmetrical.. Sometimes symmetry doesn't work... With the option to have them hanging at differing heights, you can create a unique configuration or even have them in a straight line.... They are glass ovals situated in a nickel metal surround and chain which houses the flex/cord which is woven into it. At the moment showrooms in London and New York.. You will find what works for you.. : ) )...See MorePlease helpe bed behind window
Comments (23)Hey Liornoli, sorry I have been busy helping with our driveway extension this weekend and was too pooped at night to surf the net. I think your black bed would work well with the orange AND the TEAL. But I would keep the teal to a minimum, cushions and maybe a little dish on the bedside to keep your rings bracelets etc, or a small vase/plant pot. As for curtains where do you live? I could link to a few here in the UK but not sure that would help you. Love Fizz's advice on tap lamps but make sure they are not gigantic in proportions. Could you not add some taller legs to your current ones to raise them a little?...See MoreDesign By Kurys
